no that was brown v. board of education did that in 1954. overturning plessy v. furgeson decision 1896, that said schools could be separate but equal. the brown decision maintained that separate schools were inherently unequal.

in 1956 little rock made the decision to build two new schools horace mann high school for blacks and hall high school for whites, knowing full well that it was in violation of the brown decision.

the head of the little rock NAACP daisy bates organized 9 students to integrate little rock high school, which prompted our governor to mobilize the national guard to prevent that, prompting eisenhower to send in the 101st airborne division to forcibly integrate little rock high school. our school year was canceled and our district placed under federal receivership for the next 50 years and ordered to achieve a 50/50 balance between blacks and whites busing black kids into white areas and white kids into black areas. theoretically achievable as little rock was and is 50/50 black and white but we also lived segregated so achieving that goal was impossible.

ironically little rock is just as segregated today as it was in 1961 when i was born here. white kids go to private schools and our public schools are 80% majority minority. and 26% can read at grade level and 23% are proficient in math.

That’s bullshite. Social media was what doomed Western civilization.
