Mhm. Cute. Unfortunately for you, California is currently a powerhouse in the tech and agriculture industries. Possessing the best public education system in the nation and the largest population. Because Americans are an ambitious people and building a state like that takes a lot of ambition, I would say that we are Americans. Now suck up your pride like a real man, boy.

Good for you.

Texas is very successful as well.
Sorry, but many many Texans place their allegiance to The Great State far and away above country.
And those Texans who place country over state are grappling with the unfortunate reality that the fedgov they hold in highest esteem is looking to decimate Texas's economy.

Cute. Unfortunately for you if anything has become more clear since March of 2020 to people that didn't know better before, it's that California is a shitbox. But it has nice weather in some parts. Some times. So run with that.

a relatively small portion of the current Texas population.
But you are looking only at two generations. Look at the KIDS of my generation. Seven second cousins on the paternal side, all 1845ers by definition since at least of of their parents was an 1845er. On the maternal side, four of the other six married 1845ers, resulting in twelve kids with 6/12 being 1845ers.

Thus, that next generation in MY immediate family is 10/16 1845ers. That mixing has been taking place for 150 years.

As I said before, totally unverifiable on a broad scale and thus an impracticable standard.

Texas separating from the most capable market in the world does not make economic sense. Also, the only people who support this in noticeable numbers are gullible folks from Bumbfrick Nowhere. The cosmopolitan cities and large businesses of Texas are likely to not support this because why separate from the economic might and security of the US just because some individuals want their hissy fits turned up to 11. Unfortunately for these childish morons, Texas is not stupid.

The infrastructure is here, and companies are flocking to Texas in droves NOW due to our biz-friendly environment. Assuming a reasonably-friendly divorce, I cannot imagine that the economies of Texas and the USA would not remain entwined.

And you can't provide basic needs like electricity to your people. Or get the homeless off the streets and are needing the federal government to pay the hotel bills to house them. Or stop people from shitting in the streets.

Such a powerhouse you are.

I just cannot understand how any educated, reasonable person thinks this is possible... much less base an analysis of Texas's viability as an independent state on this assumption.

Who gets to vote in our new Republic?

I would limit the franchise to those of us who are able to prove direct descent from at least one person who lived in Texas prior to 1845. The real stakeholders.

Carpetbaggers would be welcome to live here and pay taxes, but I don't see any reason to give them a say in running things.
I think you would be surprised how many potential TX citizens would be perfectly fine with that.

can you imagine the false flag shootings and deep state orchestrated psyops generating Texas Terrorist acts within the US.

My feelings on Texit aside, this would without question start happening if Texit ever got traction. Texas would overnight become a hotbed of "white nationalist extremism" and therefore would require continued occupation.

Note, California is producing way too much energy. So much so that the state pursued paying Arizona to have some of our electricity. Also, the living costs that cause the homeless problem is due to an unholy coalition of NIMBY (Not In MY BackYard) progressives and conservatives who refuse to allow development to happen because it would ruin the "character" of their precious suburban and nuclear family lifestyle.

If you are going to poke at California's infrastructure misfortune to get some illusionary strength into your words, I could make mentions of the gas fires in Texas. So I suggest you don't go into that losing battle.

It is a bad thing because it contributes gorwing housing costs in California and pretty much everywhere in the nation. Single-family suburban housing and living are highly inefficient for allows very little room for further development and wastes so many resources like water. There is a reason there is quiet bipartisan support among municipal Democrats and Republicans on getting rid of single-family zoning regulations.

Let me ask you this:

The Scottish independence referendum was VERY close to passage, and Scotland has been paired with England for 400 years. Today, it would probably pass, due to BREXIT. Do you think England would have fought a war in the 21st century to prevent Scottish independence? Did Europe fight a war to prevent England from seceding?

So the odds of this actually happening are what, terrible? How serious is Texit?
