Why would Texas need any more geography??
They could easily stand alone. All the Federal taxes now going to Washington would go to Austin.
Also I am not sure I want the US Constitution followed as written.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but getting rid of the cartel would be the messiest war you’ve ever seen. Not gonna happen.
Texas seceding on its own would be great in theory but that also would result in a lot of hardship for the foreseeable future.
