I would not move to those cities if the houses were free!

Our home we sold for 2.1 million in San Jose 2 years ago has a Zestimate over 3 million.
It's 3300 sq ft home built in 1979 that needed lots of updates.
The neighborhood is dealing with homeless heroin addicts off the bike trail next to the neighborhood a block from my old home. It's on a 1/4 acre lot with neighbors that can look into your house.
We bought a 750K home in NW Ark that is over 4200sq ft on over an acre of land with beautiful trees blocking the view of my neighbors. Grant it we have to watch out for copperheads, but I'll take them over heroin addicts.

All blue states…are they not friendly to the working class?

Prog Utopias: the politically connected live in unprecedented luxury while the rest of us live in filth and squalor.

The home we still live in we had built, back in 1990 for $243k with 6 acres, now has a value of 880K according to Fayette County, Ga. No way I would ever pay that amount for this home today.

I bought in October of last year. Overpaid because the market was stupid. I added 400 sqft and a full bath as part of a mother in law suit and just got cold call offers 150,000 over what I paid. For a house that’s under 200k in a reasonable market. No land, 1990s construction was right at 2,000sqft before the addition.

Whole lot of subtle brag in this thread.
Can someone please recommend a good au pair in Monaco?

I think we overpaid when we bought in Arkansas. However, we got a great deal on the all the furniture in the house. These days, it's taking forever to get furniture. I guess it all worked out.

I'm sorry. I wasn't bragging. Still shocked how much our home sold for, and even more shocked it's gone up in value by a lot since we sold.

Other than LA and San Francisco, that’s some of the best places to live in America. You are not a smart person for passing up the free house, sir or madam.

Not sure how they're defining it because Honolulu median for a 3br/2ba single family home was $1.1 mil a year ago before we left.
Edit: avg. list price of all properties I guess.

Breckinridge, Vail, Aspen …
I remember when prices in summit county were actually reasonable and I kick myself every time I think about how I passed on a place in Breck which has gone up about 500% in the past twelve years.
