Did he own slaves? Give them an inch....They want the mile.
This in why the NRA fights every single gun law.

The iconic Teddy Roosevelt statue in front of the Museum of Natural History on the west side of Central Park being removed.

We need Ben Stiller and his flashlight on it immediately.

I heard the primary motivation is they cannot protect it where it is and don’t want to see it destroyed.

Diblasio ordered it to be removed in June because it’s racist with the African and the Indian flanking his horse.

He did that alright.

He also invited Booker T. Washington to dine in the White House to talk Economics and Racism. First black person to ever do that.

Southerners went nuts. No future invitations were forthcoming

Does not seem to be about Teddy himself, but rather about the composition of the statue.
quote:

Titus Kaphar (criticized the) choice of pose showing that "Teddy Roosevelt is sitting there ...and on the left-hand side of him is a Native American walking and on the right-hand side of him is an African-American walking" as a representation of white social hierarchy in America.
Or something like that.
quote:

As an early champion of civil rights and equality for black and Native Americans during the early 20th century, many feel the statue depicts Roosevelt as leading minority persons in the U.S. forward towards the promises made to all under the U.S. constitution. Roosevelt's relationship with Booker T. Washington and his appointment of Minnie Cox as the first black regional postmaster in the United States (Indianola, MS) is seen as further cementing this view. Roosevelt's own comments regarding race indicated that he believed all the races were equal, but some cultures were superior due to their greater technological advances over time. The sculptor of the statue, James Earle Fraser, stated the intent with these words: “The two figures ... are guides symbolizing the continents of Africa and America, and if you choose may stand for Roosevelt’s friendliness to all races.”

We had no Native Americans back then. They were Indians.

We had no African-Americans back then. That hyphenated identity didn't show up until the 1980's or so.

So to depict history is now offensive. Got it.

Would folks be happier if someone used a cutting wheel and removed the African-American part?

Conservatives ought to be applauding this action...Teddy was as big or bigger a progressive than any anyone who has ever served including Franklin. Dude was run out of the GOP for being too progressive. A list of his progressive party SJW ideas:

A national health service to include all existing government medical agencies...SOCIALISM...DEATH PANELS

Social insurance, to provide for the elderly, the unemployed, and the disabled.....COMMUNISM

Limiting the ability of judges to order injunctions to limit labor strikes...FASCIST

A minimum wage law for women.....CUCK

An eight-hour workday...GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY IMAGINE THE HORROR

A federal securities commission...DIRECT SLAP IN THE FACE TO A "FREE" MARKET

Farm relief....Not unpopular with some modern day GOPers

Workers' compensation for work-related injuries - Christ in a handbasket. REGULATION. JOB KILLER. FASCISM

An inheritance tax. TAX AND SPEND....EVEN WHEN DEAD. DISGUSTING!

Women's suffrage - SOY SIPPING CUCK
