It's pretty clear her friend ratted her out b/c they thought there might be something unless snapchat has some sort of crawler policing the messages.

School systems have scanners imbedded in their wifi/internet.

The scanner is supposed to flag posts of one student to another either as a threat, warning, or matter of fact.

In my county, the flag is sent to the principal, the school resource officer, and the sheriff. If any one of the 3 deem it worth pursuing, then they do so (also knowing that if they do not do so leaves them personally vulnerable in a failure to report).

I have no expectation that our county would involve fbi. So maybe one of the recipients did an escalation.

Wait thill that kill switch hits, and AI can disable your car and report you to the authorities if the computer thinks you're unfit to drive.

I can’t wait till everyone has self driving vehicles. At least 50% of the population is unfit to drive all the time.

That is not what happened as explained numerous times in the thread. The Snap was monitored by Snapchat AI, flagged as something it was not, and it forwarded by Snapchat to the FBI.

The source of referral was Snapchat, not the school, not the friends.

Yep.
"Can I have your phone?"
"yea! Here you go."

"Were you online today?"
"Sure! Let me make your entire case for you right here on camera!"
You are right of course.

Unfortunately, that is exactly how an innocent person who believes they have nothing whatsoever to hide tends to behave.

Agreed. Seems like a massive overreaction to a private joke chat between friends.. She apparently lost her job too. A good reminder to stay off social media!

How ‘bout she just do her job instead of snapchatting a “joke” snap to her friends during working hours about one of her students.

After allowing the gun emoticon, it then turns her in?

It's a reasonable interpretation. At best, it was lazy on her part. I wouldn't want her teaching my kids.

Right so we agree. It is a water gun emoji. As you said there is no gun emoji.

No. It's the gun emoji. Everyone knows this is the gun emoji. This is what was left when the old gun emoji was removed.

If a guy sends his woman a flirtatious message with the eggplant emoji, would you interpret that as him trying to make sure she eats her vegetables?

Unless I'm missing something, the only parties who saw the post were her boyfriend and roommate ....... and Snapchat's in-house voyeurs

You missed the part about the student deleting work she did on a file because she left her laptop unattended and the little shite played around with her laptop. That's why she fired off the SnapChat.
If she had password protected her laptop to lock after a minute or two, she wouldn't have the issue.
