No matter what argument you use taxation when it comes to the government is theft. Why do you think this is ok?

Taxes pay for lots of less fortunate people. Just because you want to keep the tiny amount you pay in taxes doesn't mean my kids shouldn't eat

That has zero to do with today. Taxes are theft because there's a gun pointed at you bro.

Taxes might be forced, but they are voluntary. Voluntary parting by trickery or scheme is not legally theft many times. False pretense I think it's called. It is theft in some jurisdictions. But many auto dealers and contractors learn things the hard way.

Because I like my military/police protecting me, I like travelling on roads other than dirt, I like a decent education system other than the schoolmarm era type schools, etc. Things like that.

public goods. most everyone (Except the most hardcore ancaps) believe in some public goods via government (that require taxes)

the real issue involves redistribution programs and policy choices (typically tax-related) that favor only select groups

So if I like your house or car I can get a group of friends and rob you because I like them right?

Now please link something that shows Constitutionally that taxes are not voluntary. You're the liberal, not me. I don't much care to pay six digits to fed.gov every year. People like you support non Constitutionally sanctioned spending of tax dollars that cause this.

With no police force in your income tax free world, I guess so.

If the crime of theft includes taxation, then everything we are forced by law to do is also some form of crime. This, of course, makes no sense; and I'm not sure why I'm even responding to this shite. But I'll nibble....

Do I think taxes today are "highway robbery" in the colloquial sense? Yes. But we keep expanding the scope and reach of government at every level and electing people who continue to raise taxes to facilitate those expansions and to control the populace through social engineering. So, we are continuously and masochistically (and sadistically) consenting to the plunder. And we have reached a state in which most of us just don't really care (withholdings are one tool to keep us that way).

Life in the state of nature is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short. There is no theft in that state--it's every man for himself.

Life in a totalitarian state is similarly horrid, and there are few if any protections preventing the state from taking anything it wants, from anyone. But still, it isn't theft when the state exercises that power.

What are we talking about again?

I know you are a trolling turd, so I'm going to watch LSU try not to lose to stupid Ole Miss.

I'm not a liberal you fricktard. Link to where it says they're not. Show me where anyone in recent history has voluntarily not paid taxes and not gone to jail? You can't.
LINK

quote:

Law: The requirement to pay taxes is not voluntary. Section 1 of the Internal Revenue Code clearly imposes a tax on the taxable income of individuals, estates, and trusts, as determined by the tables set forth in that section. (Section 11 imposes a tax on corporations’ taxable income.)

Furthermore, the obligation to pay tax is described in section 6151, which requires taxpayers to submit payment with their tax returns.  Failure to pay taxes could subject the non-complying individual to criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment, as well as civil penalties.

Show me where this has anything to do with theft.
