No. You just wouldn’t be able to afford clothes. Just like the old days

I remember when it was fairly common to sew clothes at home. because it was significant cheaper than buying them. Does Walmart even sell clothes patterns and cloth anymore? (honestly do t know)

Well if Trump wins and the economy sucks 4 years later...you can come collect your win. Sorry but the status quo is the reason for the debt, inflation, and shitty economy we have today. Give a practical alternative that has a chance to be implemented...cant wait to hear what fantasy world you live in

You forget one very important fact: Trump used tariffs in his first term and used that to negotiate trade deals and lower prices. The US economy thrived.

Oh, and for you guys that love this Democrat talking point - Biden left those tariffs in place.

lol cant wait for these clowns to come give you the Covid world shutdown numbers as evidence Trump's economy sucks

I got some bad news for you...

Whoever gets in will be the scapegoat, because there are few tools left to keep this thing in balance.

We've spent too liberally over the past 15 years and it will take a major recession or depression to right the ship. The people in DC don't know how to fix what they've screwed up.

Its more of an idea than al movement. I believe in it but fully realize humanity is too flawed to live by true libertarian principles.

The idea that protective tariffs can restore America’s economic greatness, based on the interpretation that they fueled our growth in the 19th century

They were a way for Yankees to build Northern infrastructure at the expense of the South. The Southern culture did not want the Fed Gov spending money on internal improvements as it was not spelled out in the Constitution.

The Fed Gov is supposed to be limited in size and power and thereby should not need trillions in funding. The States are to handle their affairs for improvements.

Tariffs were seen as a way to fund the Fed Gov, but not as a tool to enrich one class at the detriment of others.

The tariffs are a short term solution while we try to reestablish our dominance in manufacturing the goods we need as a society. We have to do something because it will take a long time to rebuild.

Robots, immigrants and CNC machines will be used. American labor has been priced out of the global market.

The problem is we've created vast wealth, but trapped an underclass that doesnt work. Any human labor for manufacturing will most likely be an army of refugees.

Nonsense. There is a very simple way to remove all the subhumans, hire only Americans, and keep the economy stabilized.

Reimagining tariffs as a panacea for economic woes is not only historically inaccurate but economically unsound. The America of the past grew in spite of tariffs, not because of them. If higher tariffs are imposed today, history will not look kindly on those who imposed them.

I guess neither will the people that lose jobs to Mexico and Asia while keeping an open border.

But hey, they will have the media to gaslight for them.

Rt before the election. Did you make this back in 2016 too?

Have you created a thread on Harris’s economic policy to digest?

In the Trump Japan thread you really went out of your way to shite on conservatives because you were as smart as a third grader and recognized the s Korean flag.

Exactly. We no longer can tolerate the unfair tariffs we still find ourselves under from the Monroe Doctrine.
Americans are free to buy European cars. BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porsche, that have almost no

Europeans don't buy many US made vehicles because they are too expensive to purchase in Europe. The reason they are too expensive is because of unfair tariffs! We charge a 2.5% tariff on European vehicles and Europe charges a 10% tariff on American made vehicles.

It's not only vehicles. Most people don't understand or realize this fact.

If we stop paying people to sit on the couch, we don't need refugees.
