Reading that makes me so sad and fricking furious at the same time. I know that if those baws protecting those aid workers had to, they would lay down their lives for them. The thing is, though, they shouldn't have to. They all should have been out a week ago. If not earlier.

Anyone watching flight traffic around Kabul online?
Have a USAF plane circling for an hour all around Kabul. Assuming it’s taking high resolution photos.
Had Kodak 100 bush planes coming and going last night. Would take off and fly into the mountains and then disappear. These planes are American made and designed to land on dirt runways and unimproved landing areas. Assume CIA getting people out? 3 went toward Mazar Sharif during the night before disappearing half way there.
All sorts of air traffic coming in and out on there.

I'm fairly certain this is the US backed alliance when we first pushed into Afghanistan. Our issue was that the Northern Alliance is comprised of multiple warlords that had their own agenda so we came with weapons, cash and hope that they would help us and not stab us in the back during battle.
But I maybe misremembering, it's been awhile. Perhaps folks can provide more deets or use Google.
