you do realize that a 'runway' can easily be repaired in a few hours? In many instances, there are stand-by sections of a runway for instances like this.
A Tomahawks purpose is not to take out a run-way. 500 pound bombs can easily do that but a runway can quickly be repaired
Radar and other comms can be brought in very quickly.
Aircraft can be brought in quickly.

We weren't trying to disable their airbase. We destroyed some buildings, planes and weapon depots. We're not trying to stop them, just send a message to cut that chemical shite out. It's pretty simple.
