Desantis trying to run in 2024 was a mistake. Everyone with common sense knew that if Trump decided to run, nobody was beating him in the primary. Desantis should have waited until 2028 and he would have probably been the GOP frontrunner. And the timing would have worked out perfectly as his 2nd term as governor would have been ending in January 2028 so he would have been able to focus 100% on a POTUS campaign
