DeSantis will not be a running mate for anyone. He'll remain Florida's boss until it's his time to run for President.

DeSantis will not be anybody's running mate. He will either run on his own or will serve out his second term as governor (which he will win this fall) and then launch a presidential campaign.
Just for kicks and giggles --- Trump could lose if he runs. When is the last time that a VP candidate on a losing ticket won a later race for president?

Anyone who works for Trump is eventually thrown under the bus by Trump.
We (justifiably) bitch about the quality of Trump’s hires for the administration, but this tendency of his has been known for a very long time. The “quality of his hires“ is probably as much a function of refusal of qualified people to work for him as incompetent hiring on Trump’s part.

I kind of understand the sentiment. If I lived in San Diego, I would likely not want to be associated with Los Angeles, either. But that desire does not alter the facts.

Would be the dumbest fricking move ever for DeSantis to work under Trump. DeSantis doesn't need Trump anymore although he needs to avoid a war.
I love Trump but its time for him to do the right thing and pass the mantle to DeSantis. Let DeSantis build bridges with the GOPe and the 50% who are dead set against Trump. We need to coalesce behind a candidate and stop the internal civil war.
This is what needs to happen and I believe 2024 would be in the bag.
