How do VAT, anticompetitive regulations, and misc trade barriers enter into that presumption?
Calculate those and get back to me. That’s what I thought we’d get.
Instead we got… take the trade imbalance on goods only and cut it in half. There, we’re done.

Instead of ad hominems, why not talk about the actual calculation?
Because in the end those numbers will not be the actual tariffs if any at all.
How long before most of these countries come to the table with offers?

Calculate those and get back to me.
You claim to have done that already.
You didn't do it though, which is why you'd like someone else to do the work for you. What is more important though is you appear to have not even considered those variables. Now at least you realize they exist.

People are weak and they cave at the slightest risk. News at 11.

I voted for him because he's not a lunatic, piece of shite democrat.
Simple... as.... that...

Now do VAT,
VAT is very different from a tariff, which gives advantage to their products over ours. A VAT is charged on their products as well. And the VAT is paid by the suckers….er, citizens of their country.

To make that assessment, one would need to understand the foundational rationale for the "calculation."
Carrot or stick.
It's almost like no one has seen Trump work before.

I’m well aware they exist and said as much in other threads over the past 12 hours.
I assumed this administration was going to do that, and they implied they did in their chart. Then I read the calculation and just laughed.

The stock market will have its moments but some of the self inflicted wounds are tougher for people to stomach. I know I know, “short term pain for long term gain.”
Self inflicted wounds! You mean like printing money making our dollar worthless like the last 20 years worth of presidents? Especially the last 4 years.
I guess we should call Trump up and let him know that all of the billionaires and genius”he has surround himself with are nothing compared to the financial guru’s we have on this board.

You sound like a Manson Family member circa 1970 in your devotion.
Do I? I've said some crazy things huh? To the point of sounding like a Manson family member from the 1970s?
Wow, that's just crazy. I really didn't think I could do it. My wife and son never believed in me. It about tore our family apart.
I remember that cold, rainy day of August 3, 2017. I told my wife I would one day I will be able to sound like Manson family member from the 1970s on a message board.
Guess what today is.
ACHIEVEMENT DAY!!!
I finally did it!

This is the most mind blowing thing about all of it. What the hell have these people been paying attention to?

Trump is just as guilty here, don’t kid yourself. Even without covid we ran massive deficits.

Yeah cause doing nothing all these years has really worked well. Let the sky screamers over stocks cry. This is way more about the future. Also buy American and invest into American companies.

we paid attention to a great economy last time he was in office, and watched an easy win in 2020 go down the tubes from your party releasing the virus (only way to stop him) and the massive cheating that followed the virus being released. You'll come back with some bs, but that is exactly what happened. They cheated this time too, but it was such an overwhelming move from the leftist nut jobs, that it was simply too big to steal. That being said, they still stole some of the senate/house seats after Trump won....you know, the 30 days it took to "count" the votes in places where R's led up until the final second....much like the Senate races in Georgia in 2022.
