Yes. When a party holds seats within parliament and enough so to enact a defacto veto over government matters, they are an official member of that government.

For someone who likes to talk to others as if they don't know the region or what they're talking about, you're wrong like every frickin time you post something.

Do you care to actually address what I'm saying or are you just going to poorly nitpick?

Your point is like saying the America is captured by China because there are Democrats Socialists of America members in the House of Representatives.

The Presidency is operated by the Maronite Christians (anti-Iran and Hezbollah)

The Prime Minister is operated by Sunni Muslims (very anti-Iran and very anti-Hezbollah)

The Parliamentary Speaker is a Shiite who is at best sympathetic to Hezbollah and at worst a mouth piece, although not an official member of Hezbollah.

Therefore, Hezbollah does not have control of the state as 2/3s of the power structures in Lebanon do not like them.

And like SFP instead of addressing the fact that he is in here spewing lies, he is going to deflect.

Dude makes posts accusing other people of not understanding anything about the region and then posts outright falsehoods about the region he seems to champion himself an expert of.

The person who doesn't know anything about the area is the one making the completely bullshite claim quoted above.

The irony is thick here.

Is Lebanon a state controlled by Iran like the poster I responded to stated?

Is Yemen?

Let's see, they're a political party within Lebanon with elected seats in parliament. They have participated in coalition governments. They maintain an independent, well-armed military outside the control of the Lebanese government. This is largely funded by Iran.

Because of that military capability, successive Lebanese governments have not been able to disarm Hezbollah, even when they have attempted to. And because of their official membership in Lebanese Government with defacto veto power they can even gum up the works on attempts to disarm them through official channels.

Does Iran control Lebanon? To an extent. Lebanon can't do shite about Iran's terror proxies. Iran has been able to keep Lebanon under Israel's thumb. Would you not consider that "control?"

The Iraqi army. We sold or gave them some when they were reforming their military.

This appears to be more closely tied to an anti-corruption campaign than a pro-American or pro-Iranian action.
