Anyone following this? I need some background information or really any info at all before I switch from an internet expert on Iran to an internet expert on Iraq.

Can only embed one tweet per post which is the reason for the multiple consecutive posts.

All I have other than hopefully getting rid of corrupt Iranian owned politicians is their soccer team went 0-3 at World Cup and I think Iran had 3 draws.

Iraq pissed.

Shits fired. This is going to get uglier than an Iraqi grandmother without her burka on.

UPDATE | Iraqi security forces are reportedly raiding the headquarters of the Taqaddum Party, the major Sunni political movement led by Mohammed al-Halbousi.

This further suggests that the ongoing arrests may be targeting Halbousi’s political network and other prominent figures within Iraq’s Sunni camp, rather than representing a broad crackdown on pro-Iran actors.

Why would anyone want to be an ambassador or work for our embassies in the ME? I give them some gratitude, I guess, because you generally move your own family there.

Iran does fund certain Sunni terrorist groups. Hamas is a good example. They funded AQ when we were in Iraq and Afghanistan. They helped the Taliban also I do believe. It’s not entirely uncommon.

One other fact I should have put in my previous answer. The current head of AQ was living in Iran at the start of the war. I don’t know if he is still living now but at the very start of the war he was living in Iran.

Well in that case I hope both sides have fun killing each other. I also hope American and other foreign diplomats and nationals in Iraq don’t get caught up in this and stay safe.

It would be nice if the whole Middle East fell into a giant sinkhole. Then maybe the world could get a little peace.
