Because they wanted more accurate readings from rain gauges.
They why the hell have we paused? And at times showed cooling? Just look at the RAW numbers since the morning readings started. Where is this rapid warming?
And why are they eliminating stations by the 1000s? If theyre so interested in accuracy? Quit being sucked in.

quote:Global warming is a trend about the globe. It's neither uniform nor constant in particular areas. If you drill down to specific slices of the earth's surface like the continental US you will see lots of places where temperature pauses or even trends down slightly over shorter periods. The skeptics you're reading depend on this kind of cherry picking to make everyone think this is some kind of massive fraud instead of completely normal climatology that is openly discussed in scientific journals. That's why your OP study contains lots of very specific graphs about "number of 100 degree days in Chicago" or whatever but doesn't discuss the ocean adjustments and never makes a simple global graph like the one I posted at the bottom of the last page. Because that would give the game away and show that overall, the adjustments push the trend down, not up.

Thank God
However, I am sorry to hear about your cities underwater, and your starving people, melting glaciers, and sky high gas prices in your world. If that helps any?
Hit me up if you need a place to stay over here, when things get really bad over there

Well, you just keep believing in the adjusted numbers, and I'll stick to the raw data
Because if Trump hired a bunch of guys that started adjusting the numbers cooler, you'd be screaming to use the raw data. And you know it

It's a no brainer that we should take care of the planet through some simple sustainable measures.
True.

It's ridiculous that data is fudged to create fear and waste money on things that have no impact.
And if the data has to be fudged and created, then it probably isn't true. if what they are saying was truth and undeniable, then they would not have to bend the data to say what they want it to say.

None of those things are "mine." I'm not an absolutist on this topic. I find it ridiculous that you are.

Meh, a bit.
It's still fantasy, and so is the opposite.

More evidence that most politicians have no business being placed in scientific oversight positions.
Case in point:
