Your argument is that the deficit was smaller when Obama left office then when he got there?

Try again.

The deficit ballooned under him. I will say that his yearly deficit spending decreased over time. But in no way do you get to be disingenuous and say that he reduced the deficit.

So he gets to blow out our fiscal position for 10 years while the only economic growth was driven by the expansion of the largest corporate debt bubble we've ever seen and you get to blame Trump for it?

If you're still pointing fingers at political rivals you're really stupid. This is the new play book the Feds are taking. It's round 3.

You're proving yourself to be a lightweight however I will agree with you that I'm terrified of the "conservative" crowd cheering the spending on. GOP is essentially populists but we have the gun crowd.

Stop giving corporations trillion-dollar welfare checks in the form of tax cuts.

Once you admit trickle-down is bullshite, we can fund everything easily.

Letting people and companies KEEP more of their OWN money, instead of robbing them is not a welfare check. The mere fact that you honestly believe that nonsense shows that your core belief is that all the Money belongs to Big Daddy Gubmint. You and your kind will NEVER be compatible with freedom loving Americans

So there is a lot of BS opinions in this thread on both sides....but this right here is just factually 100% incorrect.

He's referring to the reduction of the deficit not considering that the debt is still increasing after (at the time) the largest fiscal stimulus bill in history at the beginning of his presidency and a doubling of all cumulative debt in this country's history.

I hope you’re right. I’m still waiting to this day for Bulldog Joe Biden’s report on how the stimulus was spent?

Obama promised me a report and that Biden would be all over those receiving the stimulus.

Agreed. My only issue with Trump was his initial public statements downplaying what was coming. Mostly because it led to his sheep parroting it like morons for months...

Liar. If that was the case our debt would have been lower-- not double. Good grief.

Really? Trump increased SS spending? Trump caused debt service expenses to go up? Do you have any f*cking clue what's driving the deficit today? The deficit increases under Trump were predicted (beause of actions 2009-2011 a decade ago. 2011 CBO Projections. See that's the thing about debt. It has to be paid back.

As for "room", do you hear ANY discussion about a spending limit?
More stupidity. The problem is we were ALREADY running deficits at World-war levels of GDP. Without the war. Did you really think I was talking about statutory limits?

He's telling FDR "hold my beer" at this point. But Congress is ultimately to blame.

Better question is what the hell is wrong with "us"? Everybody wants a check. People want to be bailed out. People will *NOT* vote these guys out.

Everyone hates the politicians, but ultimately it's "us" the citizens that are rewarding politicians engaging in this.

Representative government at it's finest. As long as bribing voters with their own tax dollars (leveraging the bribe by borrowed cash) lead to reelection... don't expect this to change.

Helps that the Chinese government did the same. Which prompted an adequate response based on the information at hand. Hell they currently still are when it comes to the death toll in Wuhan.

What's funny is democrats... that impeached Trump for *not* spending congressionally-appropriated money... also blame him (exclusively) for spending congressionally-appropriated money.

I don't want the check. Essential job, very secure. Busier than ever, in fact. But everybody is getting it, so I'll take it and pay off some debt.

I will do my part to vote who I can out, as well. Inhofe pissed me off with his illegal stock selling and this Okie is telling everyone I know about it, and that we need to primary his arse.

I don't expect change, but I'll vote for it nonetheless.

"Us" is painted with a broad brush. I think some of us see what needs to be done. Unfortunately, liberals have set this up quite well for many decades now, and it will be too hard to sway people away from voting for what's coming.

A complete economic collapse is inevitable, with spending the way it is. And with that collapse comes a reckoning. We will right the ship, or we will fall. If we are to right the ship it will be a difficult, uphill battle. If we are to fall, it will be swiftly and easily.
