Use other government checkpoints. Bring in a couple non US members of the team and get them to use their nation’s government.
A landlocked nation with no friendly border countries is tough. Uzbekistan might let them in but that’s a long way off. If they fought through a taliban checkpoint would US soldiers instinctively support them? Kinda forcing the issue? Would any country at the airport get them in against US directive.
