So wasting money and hanging at Starbucks is "moving up"? LOL
It's priorities. Nice clothes don't make me happy. So, the only clothing I've purchased in the last 3 years is a pack of 4 white cotton socks from Academy Sports. I think it was $12.
If you spend more than $4 a year on clothes I don't go around saying you're 'wasting money.'
The clientele at SB is definitely upscale. If you like coffee from McDonalds then you wouldn't fit in at SB. And we are certainly not trying to persuade you to change your mind. We're perfectly happy for you to stay at McDonalds.

$900?? I spend over 3K a year at SB between daily coffee, oatmeal and gift cards for my son and his wife.
Lemme splain why it's justified. The difference in taste between what you make in your grandma's machine and SB arabica through an industrial espresso machine to me is like the difference between beer and motor oil to you.
2 points. I've had good coffee, from Europe to Australia and New Zealand (Two countries that take their coffee WAY more seriously than the U.S ) I enjoyed it, but it wasn't life changing or anything like that. But as I said, i have different priorities in life. Again, justify it however you like. But, if you're thinking SB is the pinnacle, then that's akin to saying MickyD's us the pinnacle of burgers.
Second, In MY opinion, it's not necessarily what's in the cup, it's the location and those you get to share it with. If comfy couches in a SB is your idealic spot,good for you. Mine us out in the world enjoying God's creation with my family.

I can't tell expensive wine from cheap wine. So it would be stupid for me to buy expensive wine. But I can tell arabica espresso from SB and arabica espresso from Joe Muggs (Book A Million shop).
I don't drink wine so I have no opinion.

I can't go anywhere and I can't experience anything. 20 years ago the wife said she can't enjoy traveling because she worries about the dogs. So, we don't travel.
But I'm not advising you to switch to SB. If you can't tell the difference between what you brew and espresso then it would be stupid for you to pay more money for SB.
Excuses.
One reason we bought the Airstream is so the dog can go on vacation with us. The Dog traveled close to 10k miles with us last year and has been to over 30 states. We can even leave him for a few hours in the summer and not worry about him as we can ventlate the AS. You couldn't do that in a car.

Jesus. You sure are pretentious. But then you don't travel and don't drink fine wine. Lol

I knew it, you think you're upscale because you go there...my point exactly! LOLOLOLOL. What a fool

Just keeps getting better...now you're part of ownership group? Some sort of member?
So yo be upscale, we should meet a few clowns and do the elephant walk to Starbucks and discuss politics before going grunt together in the gym?
OMG, please keep posting here! The OT needs all the upscale tips it can get.
BTW, by your assumption, these 2 guys arrested are upscale?

Obviously. I’m not saying sue them. I’m saying it was an avoidable mistake if you want to maximize the success of your business.

That's a really bad analogy. You admit that you drink coffee that you brew at home. To me, that's drinking piss. So, you're not epicurean re: fine coffee.

Before I had dogs I never liked traveling often enough to justify buying an Airstream. One of my golfing partners is on his 6th Motor Home (with 4 TV sets in it). He and his wife spend over 100 days a year on the road all over the US with their dog.
However, he found out many years ago that it meant owning small dogs. They handle it better.
My wife and I have always had large dogs (70-90 lbs) and they like spending more time outside running and swimming. That's why we built a house out here on the lake.

Hell, I dress like a homeless person. I buy new shorts when there are so many holes I'm afraid I'll get arrested. How can that be pretentious?

I have clothes. But a tee shirt and shorts will last me 15-20 years.

No, I'm upscale and seek places where my people hang out. Starbucks, the golf course, the gym. Why would I want to hang around people like you?

I have no idea what that means.

I have no idea what that means either but it sounds like a reference to fat people. My friends and I are all fit. We hate fat people. I rarely seen any fat people at Starbucks and the only fat people at the gym are in the hot tub. They don't like the exercise area.

If you get arrested it's a clue that you're not. I'm surprised you couldn't figure that one out.

No it's not. Both are purveyors of massed produced food products. One makes hamburgers, the other makes coffee. When you make anything in such mass quantities quality is sacrificed. I'm sure that even in your area there is a local coffee shop that brews a better cup than SB.
But that really isn't even the underlying point I was trying to make. The point was, everyone is free to make their own choices. You make SB a priority. Good for you. I was just pointing out the sacrifices one makes for those choices.

@Starbucks
We apologize to the two individuals and our customers for what took place at our Philadelphia store on Thursday.

Whatever! It's old. Going high doesn't work because we continue to be treated like garbage just for existing. You only care about your revenue and I hope that at least this location will go out of business.

@Scubacem
No no apologies aren’t enough for this kind of action. Similar case happened to me in New York. All I did, I started to charge my phone before I ordered a coffee! The manager says, for no reason,” stop charging your phone I am gonna call the security, leave this place!”

”Our store manager never intended for these men to be arrested...” The fact that #KevinJohnson & Starbucks persist in defending the indefensible renders this “apology” moot. What did the store manager think would happen when law enforcement was called?! #BoycottStarbucks
Rae Hope
@IAmRaeHope
So when are you going to FIRE the employee who placed the call for PROFILING two Black Men who were just sitting there waiting on a colleague? When will you FIRE the manager who allowed the call and didn’t absolutely nothing to stop it? I have questions @Starbucks!!
7:30 AM - Apr 15, 2018
@pbrad11990
So the manager will continue to work there?? No repercussions because it wasn't their 'intent' for the arrest to happen?

Do you realize the humiliation that these two African American felt yet they showed you REAL POWER from REAL MEN with an African heritage they held their tongues, they held their heads high as Kings of men, men of INTEGRITY can you say the same for yourself? I doubt it

It's like you're pseudo pretentious.
"I can tell the difference between a fine arabica, blah blah blah" but then miss out on the other stereotypes.

Wrong. SB makes espresso with a machine that costs as much as your car. If you buy a $500 espresso machine for home use it will not make the same quality coffee due to pressure differences (see Alton Brown on this).
I've tried 3 local coffee shops in Benton and Bossier. All of them made terrible espresso. All of them went out of business within 2 years.
If another shop made the same quality coffee I'd use it since SB disagrees with my politics.

I have no idea what that means. But if it means 'some of your behaviors are pretentious and some of them are the opposite of pretentious' then yes, that's correct.

See, your issue is and always will be confusing upscale with class. You can sleep at Starbucks kid, it doesn't make you upscale in ANY way.

No. The crew and I hang out 15 minutes on weekdays before gym. I hang out for an hour on weekends. In all cases we make a purchase. In my extended stay on weekends it's because they know I spend 3K a year there.
