Maybe, but per Heinlein their smarts isn't what should earn them their right to vote.

Most people on the planet are absolute morons.

Regardless, our military is generally made up of higher quality people than the civilian population.

Read this: LINK

quote:

Contrary to popular perceptions, America's enlisted troops are not poorly educated. In fact, Pew reports that 98 percent of the enlisted force has at least a high school diploma. This is compared with 86.7 percent of the U.S. civilian population aged 25 or older.
quote:

To qualify, recruits must score higher than roughly one-third of all who take the ASVAB. The lowest acceptable percentile score to join is 36 for the Air Force, 35 for the Navy, 32 for the Marine Corps, and 31 for the Army.

By definition, the worst test taker who makes it into the military still scores higher than one-third of his or her peers. The military intentionally slices off the bottom third of test-takers, not allowing them to join.

Now, I'm sure you have to be brilliant to be a pipefitter or whatever it is that you do for W2 wages, but maybe try reading a book once in awhile, too.

These are those supremely "educated" voters that vote Democrat.

The only guys that truly look for a women with brains is another equally likeminded person.

Most men are afraid of super intelligent women because they emasculate them.

I wont even engage with a woman I think is of lesser intelligence. I like to have to work during my hunt.

Electrical Engineer
And no disrespect to pipefitters. I’d rather be ruled by a government democratically elected by pipefitters than one elected by the military. I know a lot of first class people in the military, but I know some morons too. My point is that military service should not be enough to guarantee the vote.

What I’d like to see is all of these criteria met in order to vote.

1. Pass a civics test.
2. Be a net provider of revenues to the government, or be the spouse of a net provider. Medical benefits through parents’ insurance would count as benefits for this calculation.
3. No felony convictions
4. Be a US Citizen
5. Proficiency in English

This would keep people off the rolls if they are not productive. This would have to be established by amendment, and I think that amendment should mandate that at least 65% of the population between the ages of 24 and 64. If it falls below that a constitutional convention would be mandated to fix the criteria. This last would be to fix things if AI drives employment too low.

It should.

Read the article I linked. If you're as intelligent as you think you are, you'll realize how foolish you look on this point.

lol. How many people’s parents buy them their first home? Way to take an insanely rare situation and act like it somehow affects my argument. Congrats on still being one of the dumbest people on this board

I don't think it's about emasculating. Educated women can be a royal pain the arse. Many physicians and lawyers are insufferable. I have said that on balance, a teacher is a guy's best bet for mix of educated/intelligence and life/work balance. All of that said, I think there is a case to be made for women who don't think too much. Simple is not so bad.

I don’t need to read anything to know that my wife’s nephew, who was in the Navy, should not be allowed to vote. In fact, he should not be allowed to make important personal decisions without the approval of a responsible adult. And if you knew him I have no doubt you’d agree with me.

The ones going on spring break to the beach typically aren’t the brightest and best. They are normally the ones partying on the government dime, just doing so outside the college town for a change.

You know that’s absolutely pathetic don’t you? You can’t name who won the civil war? Just 3 states that border Canada? The shape of the pentagon? Who is on the 100? You seriously struggle with that?

Yes those are the easy ones. I have no clue about any of the political questions.

Number of senators have no clue, don’t know the bill of rights at all, and have no clue have many Supreme Court justices there are.

Dated one once. Incredibly boring. Couldn't talk about anything other than small talk (and I hate small talk)

Like I get it on the theoretical level , but it got old fast.
