Clay Travis was there and said he thinks the law will be struck down and sports betting will be a states issue such as lotteries...

The casino lobby and Louisiana Family Forum will make sure it stays illegal like daily fantasy sports.

We can't even call it gambling gambling here, it's got to be "gaming"

Wouldn’t they be better off running it? I am sure they could draw up some bullshite about how sports books can only be so close to school or church to where the books would be in casinos

A sports book at Harris would make a freaking killing.

Iirc, case law and/or federal law only allows sports betting in the forms it existed in before X date.

Vegas has legalized sports betting at the time so it is grandfathered in. Delaware had sports parlay at that time so they were allowed to bring that back. Etc.

The NJ case overturning the law in question would open up states to doing so, but the NCAA has already threatened to withhold basketball tournament games from any state which legalized gambling on said games.

I would figure that a number of states add a sports book to casinos there if only to chip away at Vegas’ action / help spread the betting around to even out risk should the casinos take a bath on one particular event.

Just hoping the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act of 2006 will get struck down.

Mississippi will make a killing from sports betting, and when they do Louisiana won't be far behind.
