So you actually believe the Gospels are fake?
They aren’t fake. Is Beowulf fake? The Odyssey, the Iliad fake? Epic of Gilgamesh?
They aren’t fake, but they are great literary works of fiction.

“Okkkaaayyy!!!”
Happened just like that, huh.
This might help you to understand
Read some of the Antiquities of the Jews by Josephus Flavius, then read the Gospel according to Mark. See if you can tell which was written by someone actually attempting to write an historical account of real events.

You’re picking a fight with the nuts on here that are going to say being a Christian is believing that Jesus died and was resurrected for your salvation, by faith alone, not doing works living like Christ.

I'm Baptist but we shouldn't be following religion. We should follow Jesus

Without knowing the context, Paul did tell the women in house churches at Corinth to be silent. But why didn't he deliver the same message to the Galatians, Thessalonians, Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Romans?
Must have been OK for their women to speak.

If your church has a woman paster find a new church

Yes, but churches with woman pastor can still be kicked out of the SBC.

Because 1 Corinthians 14:34 was a line that the consensus of biblical scholars agree was inserted by someone later into Paul’s letters. 1 Corinthians is not even one letter, but more than several that someone else later compiled and probably edited.
Something else Paul wrote:
quote:
6But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code
And “Jesus” said
quote:
18For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Who are you going to believe? Paul or Jesus? Maybe all of it was made up…

Churches with women pastors can still be part of the SBC, but they lost their voting power on issues up for approval is the way a pastor explained it to me.

quote:I’m not cherry picking anything. I study the whole Bible and follow the standard hermeneutical method of understanding a text based on its context and let the Bible interpret itself as God’s infallible and inerrant Word.
You suffer cognitive dissonance and cherry-pick Bible verses to support your dogma while ignoring scientific facts
Where you fall short is that you see the Bible as a man-made work. You don’t accept that it is the word of God written by men who were carried along by the Spirit of God. In doing so you treat the Bible just like any other work of antiquity, except you have contempt for it and take all other works as being more factual or more trustworthy than the Bible. If there is a discrepancy between “myths” as you see it, you take the word of any others over the Bible. You have an a-historical view of the Bible and you look to consensus of those who reject the Bible as inspired truth to support your own predetermined beliefs about it, pretending to be intellectual while actually being foolish.
You are lost and I really do hope you are found by God. You are actively attacking your maker and rejecting His message to you. You are a sinner and will be found guilty if you do not put your trust in Jesus Christ to bear the penalty that you are owed. Your sin will be judged one way or another. I hope it will be judged in Christ because you repent of your sins and turn to Him by faith.

quote:Luther was trying to reform the church of abuses, particularly on the subject of indulgences. He was excommunicated for it. He wasn’t trying to divide the church at all.quote:“Screw that.” - Martin Luther
We are specifically told not to divide the church and denominations specifically divide the church.
After the fire was lit and the separation was already under way, Rome decided to take a look at itself and do some reform of its own. If that would have happened instead of excommunicating Luther, that may have prevented the Protestant Reformation altogether.
I’m glad it didn’t, though. When a church becomes apostate, it is necessary for faithful Christians to join themselves with a true branch.

Everything you believe is based on cherry-picked Bible verses and quite of a bit of unbiblical ideas like the Trinity. In some areas you alternately reject the Bible entirely such as the flat earth cosmology. Paul even tells you he want to the third heaven… because you know the earth is a flat disk built on pillars with seven solid clear domes on top with the sun being a little light dangling in the lowest firmament. You reject those clear biblical teachings - why?
The Bible is a compilation of books, each book being compiled by several or many authors (many with different ideas and theologies) and redacted and edited by many more people. There isn’t any truth in the Bible, and it’s not even consistent, and therefore there is nothing objective about it.

You are really really dumb, for real, or clinically insane. Ignorance is bliss for you maybe.
