Nobody can help that community nor change that culture except for those that seem to be content enduring it.

I feel like the only folks that care are those on the outside looking in. Ill bet anything that the PD canvassed the area and nobody saw nothing. I hate that the innocent suffer. How did not one of those people in the three vvehicles involved not soak up a round? Just one child in their home?

I hate to say it but these folks choose this for themselves. Only they can "take the city back".

Elect leaders who are tough on crime and don’t show leniency for first time violent offenders.

This is all part of the gas lighting. The high majority don’t vote Democrat. They are voted on behalf of meaning the filth steals the black vot uncontested yet the media tells us blacks vote 98% Dem and we are dumb enough to believe it.

That ain't the ghetto, it's not far from sketchy areas but Fairfield is a bunch of historic mansions and the wealthy who's who of Shreveport old money, look at the house in the picture.

The motto of Albany, GA, is “The Good Life City.” It’s more appropriately called “The Short Life City” by locals.

Let's see what r/Shreveport has to say. Ahh, it's societies fault. Poverty breeds crime. Not enough programs. They ain't never learned no better and ain't got no better opportunities. We're all responsible for this murder

quote:

And it will take intentionality. We must act in a coordinated way across departments and jurisdictions to solve this. It’s all connected — education, public safety, social justice, economy. We have the power to change our trajectory, but as you said, it will take time even if we are strong and thoughtful with our response. But to do nothing means nothing will change

quote:

There’s too much poverty, and too little opportunity for strong education and career here in Shreveport. It will take a lot of action and many years to divert Shreveport’s communities from this path.

quote:

The shots came from a rolling shootout between two gangs. Poverty leads to crime because people need to be able to support themselves. Unfortunately some kids are put into a box and they think joining a gang is the best way out.

quote:

When the city steps up and recognizes why things like this happen. That’s the mayor, the council, the departments, the parish, and us as individuals. Believe it or not, there is no Superman coming. We are all responsible for what happens here.

quote:

I’ll say it again: We are all responsible.

Ignorance is more destructive and deadly than any virus we have experienced and Shreveport has suffered from an epidemic of ignorance for decades. I know because I am from there, with the emphasis on “from.”

Ditto. Shame, too. I love my friends and family there, and love the lakes, the fishing, and the food, but do not miss the lack of economic engine and economic opportunity. Too little mind power that isn't all about corruption. No major companies are knocking at the door to set up in Shreveport. It's a dead town, they just haven't written the eulogy, yet.

Weird how shootouts only seem to regularly occur among the poor of one demographic and in cities.

I live about 4 or 5 blocks across Line Ave. from the crime scene.

Rolling shootouts are relatively new, but they've been lurking our neighborhood nightly checking car doors for years. Someone gets it on camera nearly every night and post it to the neighborhood group. They rarely get caught because officer response time is horrible.
