Sons of the Confederacy are making some statements

SIAP
I love that the Sons of the Confederacy are taking a stand and fighting back against those who want to destroy our Southern heritage. My brother told me that there are large flags near I-75 in south GA too.
What so many don't understand, this flag is a salute to our Southern way of life, has nothing to do with slavery!

Pardon the interruption from a Yankee (that currently lives farther South than many here), but I was raised to respect my opponent and their brave efforts regardless of the outcome. I was also raised to respect other cultures. Southern culture shows strong tradition, bravery, hard work, and selflessness. None of us support slavery. All of us are Americans.

As a man with a split parenthood, I applaud your taking to heart, the understanding that some do not.
I also understand the hatred for slavery and many will concur this to be true, that slavery is wrong.

Agree wholeheartedly BUT,
A confederate battle flag nor a flag used by the kkk in the 1960’s to intimidate blacks will never be a part of my “heritage” nor part of my south. There’s plenty of other symbolic things that can represent easy going, front porch sittin, sweet tea drink, southern living besides a flag that was used by the confederacy and other hate groups. Take 30 seconds and be remotely empathetic, it’s not hard.
to add, as a Christian, I would never die on the confederate flag hill nor explain to my African American friends why I would want to fly it. Downvote awake but supporting the confederacy in any degree is a joke. This is just one of many threads that make it embarrassing to be voting for the same guy come November.
“The cross and the Confederate flag cannot coexist without setting the other on fire,” wrote Russell Moore, the Mississippi-bred president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, on his website. “White Christians, let’s listen to our African-American brothers and sisters. Let’s care not just about our own history, but also about our shared history with them.”

Why would you permit hate groups to “own” those symbols.

And I’m sure the Hindi’s graciously gave over “ownership” of swastikas as well.

And this board wonders why black people don’t vote for Republicans...

C'mon folks. The flag is all about the Lost Cause....and celebrating it. Indirectly the flag does have something to do with slavery.....I don't care if the flag flies....it is a cool flag

Take 15 seconds and go frick yourself. I suspect you already know it's not hard.
And that piece of shite Russell Moore can do the same due to his dishonesty and naivety.

You would think the confederacy was around for generations the way folks act like it is a huge part of their history when it really was just a brutal 4 years.

I completely understand what you are saying. However, this flag was the battle flag, the flag of the soldiers who fought so bravery and gave their lives.
As a Daughter of the Confederacy who has ancestors that fought in the War Between the States, who didn't own slaves, this was their rally cry.
Yes, they lost the war, but you can never deny the bravery and valor of the those foot soldiers.
You can also never defeat the independent spirit of the South.

Again, you can frick right on off.
Vote for whoever you like. No one needs to know. And whoever you're voting for doesn't have anything to do with a flag that doesn't have anything to do with slavery 160 years after it ended.

My auntie used to refer to Alabama as a third world country. She had many anecdotes.
Thanks for playing.

Also, the KKK flies the United States flag, often.
But, I bet you don't view that flag a s symbol of slavery or racism, do you bitch?

Had she never been to Uganda, Nigeria, Guatemala, Afghanistan, or Louisiana?
