Seems everything I've read is clear that government employees will be furloughed and will all receive back-pay once it is back and running.

This shite is stupid.

It's not a big deal. Affects 7% of federal gov't, not including any essential services.

And it's the 7% I want to shut down. This is a plus.

Exactly, no essential services are included.

Democrats are going to lose mightily on this. This isn't Obamacare where DACA is the law of the land. It isn't and immigration reform is going to happen as the voters have demanded whether they like it or not. frick em.

1.8 Million Feds keep working.

850,000 are furloughed..

You’re percentage is wrong.

I’m a non essential worker in the DoD. I help engineer the interceptors in the Missile Defense Agency. My whole division will not be working during this.. So delaying new designs for the ballistic missile shield..

Just because something is “non essential” doesn’t mean it’s a useless job.

If this isn't resolved by the middle of next week or there isn't a special resolution exempting military members like in 2013, DFAS doesn't pay Active Duty Military on the 1st.

No offense, but you weren't going to complete the design and implementation of some time sensitive miracle shield in the next week or two. No need to act like you'll have to start over on the last line of defense when you get back from your paid vacation.

Well, I'll make it through your inflated job not working. I know it's hard to comprehend, but I promise I will make it.

No, what he's doing is way too important to go on hold for 3 days! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! THE GOVERNMENT IS SHUT DOWN FOR A WEEK!

My man took 3 days off last weekend. We could have been destroyed during that shutdown.

Never said we were going to complete this stuff in the next weeks. BUT everyone see “non essential” and thinks we need to cut those jobs out completely.. just making the point that even those jobs are needed in a lot of cases.

It's a big deal because non essential federal services like the Department of indoctrination shut down.

Now if we can only find a way to make the shutdown permanent.

It's extremely wasteful. Last time this happened the cost to the taxpayer ranged in the millions per day.

So if you're ok with our gov pissing away money at an even higher rate than normal - it's not a big deal.
