Apparently Justice Creichton (retired) and Justice Weimer don't like each other.

I went to law school with his sons - who are both very nice and super sharp - but the dad seems like a bit of a douche.

The laundry in that opinion is shocking to me. There will always be disputes and personality clashes in an en banc court. They aren't elected to like each other. But this kind of personal stuff is never publicized.

I think this is a recognition they can't keep the genie in the bottle any longer and the first step towards having him removed.

Which one Weimer or the former justice?
Will be kind of hard in Louisiana to unseat Weimer until after his term is up at the end of 2032 unless he resigns or keels over. At which time, Weimer is term limited out.

They are embarrassing the Court, the State of Louisiana, and the Anglo-American conception of the rule of law. They should be violently flogged with extreme prejudice.

I wonder if the La Leg, would consider a Constitutional Amendment mandating the Chief Justice be nominated and approved for a 2 Year term by their peer Associate Justices when new justices take office in the first meeting of the court each even year..
This would be different than using the seniority rule in the La. Constitution that requires the longest serving justice is chief justice. Since it is written in the Constitution, it would require an amendment to the constitution.
Weimer has all the associate justices beat by 12 years. He started serving in 2001.
Now, if the leg ever gets off their arse and approve a constitutional convention to rewrite that constiution that has been amended over 220 times and voters have had to vote on over 300 amendments.
