Some Presidential Election questions for the board out of curiosity.

1- How many Presidential Elections have you voted in?
2- How many eventual nominees were the candidate you supported during the primaries?
3- How many times did the candidate you voted for in the general election win?
4- How many times did you vote for "the lesser of two evils?"
I started thinking about these questions a while ago. Mostly as the left started talking about how many here were only supporting Trump and that's why they could not let go, etc. I've always thought that was idiotic, as I've voted in many Presidential elections, and lost more than I won...so I've been through this. I can handle a loss. This loss feels different for many reasons, but that's not the focus of this thread.
So anyway...my answers.
1- Since 1988, so that's 9 total.
2- Zero when there was not an incumbent. I liked Jack Kemp in '88, liked Alan Keyes in both '96 and 2000, liked Ron Paul in 2008, Newt in 2012, and hated the whole field in 2016.
3- Ugh...only three times. All 3 times were Bushes! 1988, 2004 and 2004.
4- Given I supported someone other than the eventual party nominee every time unless there was an incumbent (Bush in 1992, Bush in 2005 and Trump in 2020) literally every time I voted for a non-incumbent. Only once in 9 times did I excitedly vote for a candidate I actually fully supported, and that was this last time in 2020 when I voted for Trump.
I short, it seems I've rarely gotten my way when it comes to this shite...

1- How many Presidential Elections have you voted in?
9
2- How many eventual nominees were the candidate you supported during the primaries?
Hard for me to remember. As a La. resident, many are gone by the time we get to vote. Going to guess 3
3- How many times did the candidate you voted for in the general election win?
5
4- How many times did you vote for "the lesser of two evils?"
Never.

Genuinely curious here, because I have a feeling there's going to be a pattern.

I'm 33 and voted for Johnson in 2016 and Biden in 2020. I may have voted in an election shortly after I turned 18, but I really can't remember if I did, what type of election it was, or who I may have voted for.
People may answer the questions similarly, but I doubt they will follow how I voted.

1- How many Presidential Elections have you voted in? 7 since 1996
2- How many eventual nominees were the candidate you supported during the primaries? Most of them
3- How many times did the candidate you voted for in the general election win? 4 Clinton (God forgive me), Bush twice, and Trump
4- How many times did you vote for "the lesser of two evils?" Both times for Bush. I was hoping he'd make better SCOTUS choices.

I wasn’t registered yet for the 2008 primary so I’ve voted in the 2012, 2016, and 2020 primaries. My votes have been for Newt, Trump, and Trump. Pretty good if you ask me.

I find that interesting. In most cases, save for Trump in 2016 I'd think, the establishment candidate ended up getting the nod. For what ever reason, that's never been the person that's caught my initial attention, and by the time we vote in LA the establishment guy has all but run away with the primary and my guy is all but done so I've been stuck either voting "R" as a lesser of two evils choice, or going Libertarian which I've ultimately done three times recently since in LA my vote hasn't mattered anyway.

TEN (10)-- 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020.

This is an ambiguous question. By 'support', do you mean the one I liked early in the process? Or do you mean the one I voted for in the state's primary? I ask because the state I was living in at the time may have had such a late primary that many of the candidates I liked early on were gone by the time of my state's primary. Also, incumbents often don't really deal with primaries (about the last ones who did were Ford in '76 and Carter in '80).
That being said, for OPEN primaries (there were only SIX (6) of those for my then-party) only FOUR (4) were ones I supported in the primary.

FOUR (4)

Never in a presidential election. Once voted outside two-party system. Only time I voted for the lesser of two evils was voting for Edwards over DuKKKe in the governor's election, literally holding my nose as I did so and cursing the idiot voters in this state who put us in that runoff.
