I love all these states finding the money to fund SNAP. Federal government should remove itself completely from the conversation.

I'm supposed to feel bad for her?

Assuming you have a heart, you are... well, at least you should be. Why, she's been unable to work for these past 30 years... otherwise, she'd not need the Food Stamps. That's the only reason I can logically come up with for her to be on them for so long. She must be unable to work due to some horrible physical defect.

This is the point. It’s putting state legislators on the hot seat

I do have a heart, but I can't give a shite about every sob story I hear about and let that cloud the reality of the waste attached to these programs.

Then I do feel for her, and she may be one of the people the safety nets in our society were designed for.

Sadly, a few rotten name brand sodas and little debbie cakes spoil the bunch, so to speak. A way bigger problem than someone people not getting free shite for a few weeks / months is the billions of tax dollars being wasted on people who do not deserve it for another 50 goddamn years.

Too lazy to find bait….let her really get hungry and she’ll find a job or a shovel for bait

She's in New Mexico. Not exactly full of opportunities for anglers.

Lots of fishing opportunities in New Mexico.

I have just spent the past week organizing a community food pantry. Churches came together and donated food. Civic groups have recruited their members to staff the pantry. Government assistance is not needed when the local community can work together to meet whatever needs there may be.
