God judges goodness according to His perfect, holy standard, which reflects His very own character. In essence, He compares us to Himself, not to each other.

That is pretty fricked up.

If he is who you think he is, then he knows none of us can live up to that standard, so why expect anyone to?

That is just idiocy.

Atheists: If something good happens in their life they'll deny that God had a hand. They did this themselves, or provenance, or karma for there is no God.

Something bad happens, "Why did God allow this!"

There isn't an atheist on the planet who blames your god for anything.

Correct. This problem arises when you try and use a perfect god as an explanation.
I don't think you follow my meaning.

There is no "problem of evil" without God because there is no objective "evil" without God, because "evil" is a moral judgement, and judgements require standards to judge by. Without an objective moral standard, there is nothing to look at to say that a given action is good or evil, including the claim that God sends "good" people to Hell for eternity.

According to what standard?

That's exactly the point of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The New Testament explains that no can be justified by keeping the law because if we break it in one aspect, we're considered to have broken it in all aspects; God requires perfection.

That's why from the very beginning, once Adam sinned, God promised the "seed" would be sent to crush the serpent's head (a picture of deliverance from sin). The promise of a Messiah was given to Israel throughout the OT history, as well. Jesus was the fulfillment of those promises by obeying God's law perfectly on our behalf and being a perfect sacrifice for sin that we cannot offer in ourselves.

The point, therefore, is that because we cannot measure up, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile us to God by being our substitute. We receive peace with God and salvation by trusting that promise of salvation through faith.

The Gospel exists precisely because we can't obey God's standard perfectly.

Agreed.

But if you assert an objective moral standard, I'm allowed to show how it is inconsistent with the world around us (the problem of evil).

You don't get to assert a thing, then not allow me to reference that thing while I'm trying to critique said thing. I know you would like to do that because it makes things easier on you. But reality is rarely easy.

So i don't really question why or why not or even what God does. I assume that he's just kinda watching this thing go by and intervenes when he feels it necessary. By and large, people are given autonomy over their lives with little intervention and they choose their path.

Yep. There is no reasoning with fedora wearing neckbeard atheists. They refuse to understand logic or common sense.

If there's no reasoning with atheists, then by definition there's no reason to argue with them. Since Foo is doing just that, he's being unreasonable.

Go sit down.

I suppose you believe your religion is full of logic and common sense?

He doesn't expect us to. He knows we can't. That's why He sent His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to cover our sins. Without that sacrifice, not one single person would be allowed into heaven to spend eternity with God. That in no way means we shouldn't strive to be like God and be what God desires us to be. We can't do it, but we should strive to. Nobody is good enough.

In your world view none of this matters anyways. We are all just moist star dust. No right or wrong and the ridiculous origin of life theories you imagine that could have never happened.

God isnt letting anyone get away with anything eventually.

Damn, if only people in the twin towers had just realized that all they had to do was become atheists and the religiously inspired attack magically wouldn't be effecting them.

Great life hack.

Um... that's your takeaway? If so, you are intentionally being obtuse.

Always.

Religion will eventually be right. We just have to wait and see.

How convenient.
