You can't destroy an ideology regardless we should just leave the middle east altogether. Everytime we get involved it always comes back to bite us in the arse

Everything is Trump's fault.

This is just old warhawk rethoric that's been going on technically since the 50's. Back then it was if we don't send our troops to Korea or Vietnam eventually communism will be on our door steps.

Today it's pretty the same thing only with Islamic terrorism

I understand what you’re saying more now.

You’re right I could have worded that better.

What I’m trying to get at is that, in my opinion, the number, frequency, and methods of Islamic extremism is more so a result of 20th century geopolitics and technology than it is a function of something uniquely inherent to Islamic ideology.

I think that's certainly a possibility. There are some fairly troublesome passages in the Quran that don't have analogs in the Bible, certainly not in the NT. Only time will tell if this is just an "oh, they'll get there" thing or if there's something fundamental there that encourages violence. One aspect that points to the latter is that it's not unusual for the sophisticated attacks to be carried out by educated Muslims with money. These aren't all starving goat herders with no other choices, unfortunately.

I've worked all around the world and the worst people I have encountered are Arabs and Chinese. Middle East Muslims can't get alone with one another yet you are telling us they like Americans and we can be friends? frick you for defending a pedophile, mistreating women, violence promoting, hate religion people. There is nothing good about Islamic religion!

If you actually read the thread you’d see the post where I said Gulf Arabs are some of the worst people I’ve ever met.

However, Arabs and Muslims as a whole are not pedophiles, do not advocate violence, do not mistreat women, do not hate other religions.

The hospitality and kindness I was shown in Lebanon, Jordan, and the West Bank would blow your mind. People with literally nothing willing to give away everything to me to make sure my needs are met and I am comfortable. Even as a white, Protestant, American from Texas with a military style haircut ... they opened up their homes to me and protected me.

I had SO many people tell me they love America, want to visit and see it all for themselves, but hate the American government ... that’s completely understandable given how America’s foreign policy has played out over there the past century.

It’s a shame someone as well traveled as you comes away from those experiences with so much hate.

If I was as bigoted and reactionary as you, and could so easily generalize millions of people as you do, I could say all those things you just listed apply to Catholics and Protestants as well, or any religious group for that matter.

Your style of rhetoric is why we are faced with the supposed “clash of civilizations”. The extremists over there say the same exact shite about you.

Your username fits you though, good choice.

bullshite! We have American Muslims that believe all of this.

Because I saw first hand how they act and believed. Workers that worked together would not eat together at the same table because they were from different tribes. You expect me to believe they would ever accept Americans? Yes, there were friendly ones like there is all over the world, but the majority there did not like us.

I’m clearly not going to change your mind.

People who think like you do nothing but inflame and escalate the conflicts and divisions that exist between people. We will never defeat Islamic extremism with a mindset like yours.

Sorry you had bad experiences with Khaleejis bro, go to the Levant and maybe you’ll see what I’m talking about. Even they hate Arabs from the Gulf. And FWIW tribal culture isn’t specifically related to being Arab or Muslim.

They live in a context where their family and group identity often supersedes their identity as individuals by necessity, particularly in the Gulf, that’s the primary difference between us and them.

If you’ve been paying attention, the same thing is becoming more and more common in America. How productive and helpful has that been?

Who has been the primary victims of groups like ISIS and AQ? Arab Muslims.

Who has committed the most to fighting those groups? Arab Muslims

Stop generalizing literally over hundreds of millions of people.

It’s quite ironic because in 2016 Trump blamed Clinton/Obama for the rise of ISIS

What was it Loretta Lynch said? “Our best defense against terrorism is love, compassion, and unity?” Just love ‘em to death.

Yeah. That’ll definitely work.

We won't defeat the Islamic extremists if the Islamic moderates and liberals don't cooperate with us because of our own extremists.

No where am I advocating for the coddling of extremists.

The U.S.G. should, and will, continue hunting down and eliminating Islamic extremists who pose a legitimate threat to our country and destabilize the international community.

They have chosen their side, and they should receive the death they yearn for so badly, ideally from the guns and ordinance of other Arabs and Muslims.

Perhaps there is a reason that the part of the world where Islam holds sway is less developed, you think?

If you were to have polls that show that 30-40% of Catholics approve of priests banging altar boys it may not mean that ALL Catholics are pedophiles but it would damn sure mean Catholicism has a serious problem with pedophilia.

Oh, so how many centuries do you think we need to wait until they can act civilly?
