Yeah that doesn't fit with the others. The average SAT math score for those admitted to Cal Tech is a 780! You have to be the best of the best just to get in.

I did the same too. It wouldn't matter if I agreed with it or not. Them be the grades and I need them doe.

For BME I don't think under grad matters too much! My daughter graduated two years ago from tech and works for one of the top ortho device companies in the world, and loves it! Everyone she graduated with that didn't find employment went on to grad school, none at tech. Until my daughters second year she planned on taking the MCAT but realized it wasn't for her! A lot can change quickly when they get away from home. I would advise her to make a list of prospective schools ,five or so, get all their brochures and compare them! But most importantly contact the heads of each BME dept and get the names of females who have graduated and have jobs in the industry. Then start talking to them, at first you'll get the rah rah bs but keep after them and you'll find out the real story of the quality of the program. Good luck and congrats!!

I'd say that UCLA and Cal are beyond fine. They are exceptional schools by almost any measure.

Cal Tech is way more prestigious than UT, Rice, or Duke. It's consistently ranked as one of the top 3 or 4 colleges in the world. Usually 1 or 2 with Harvard.

So any admitted Ivy League grads in this thread or just a bunch of the usual people calling Ivy League schools overrated based on god knows what?
