Why the bitching. . . because there's (now) as big a group hatred for anything Republican as there was from the other side when Obama was in office. Maybe you weren't one. However it's ironic that those pot-kettle boys have forgotten all the misery they dealt. The head 'anti-Obama' cheerleader was elected, to the very same office, how can sane people expect him to be treated differently? He's getting what he's sown! . . . As for me both groups of extremists suck, both are necessary evils, and both deserved to be ridiculed by the not-so extreme, the guys in the middle, and even the folks from across the aisle. It's the American way; yet methinks the inability to smell one's own stench is becoming deadly serious for any President.

I tuned out for 8 years.
The difference is the fricking media is all on one side.

By the book it's a clear OPSEC violation.
However like many OPSEC measures, it only prevents casual observers from knowing something and does little to shield information from adversaries.
I'd put the blame on the White House PAO / Social Media manager more than anyone, they should know at a minimum blur the faces.

I read a few paragraphs but just because it says some deployed afterwards is a far cry for calling them out on TV. No one knows their mission or if they really were.
The MSM is now on desperate, extremely butthurt miserable overload with this.

Those guys are pretty tight lipped. They're alpha as frick, especially the Vietnam era RECONs, but ask them what they did and they'll tell you "I'm a Marine. I did what Marines do." That's no knock on modern FORECON either, because those guys may be more used for green ops now, but I promise you don't want to mess with them.
*My former bandmate's father was part of the original RECON in the Vietnam war, carrying out covert POW extractions... And our band manager's father was a Tunnel Rat in Nam. They're very humble about having done some of the most dangerous and difficult jobs in the history of warfare.
