How so?
We aren't counting people who've died at home and I am to understand that outsized number of people have died at home as compared to recent trends. At some point this will be very apparent one way or the other.

Are you saying we are simultaneously seeing a rise in COVID deaths with a huge drop in other deaths like pneumonia, flu, and heart disease, but they are still likely misapplying COVID deaths to those other causes?
This is simply untrue. We are definitely going to have more people die of pneumonia this year than any other year in a century because many COVIDs mortalities go that way. And flu season was pretty much over before COVID really hit and it was a worse than an average year. And that's before you deal with the fact because COVID test are somewhat scarce, hospitals don't even test for COVID in patients who are positive for the flu. I just don't understand why people think hospitals would have an incentive to commit fruad related about causes of death.
Not sure where you're getting the idea that

So just to be clear, you had such the urgency to respond so quickly to my request that you posted a link to a story that was completely false and the reason being is because you thought it said something it didn’t.

Yep, I guess I'll take being too quick to the punch over being illiterate.

The sheer ignorance in this thread is stunningly unsurprising.
As a former coder, I just want to say “thank you” to Antonio Moss, Buckeye, 808, Korkstand, et al for trying to explain how this all works to the Q conspiracy rubes here. Cheers, your efforts are not unnoticed!

I'm not even sure how you reach that conclusion.
uh, because its in the very guidelines that have been released, and I know you read them in the thread about the MN doctor. Its clear as day that they are to code deaths as COVID, even without the verifying lab work
quote:
it is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate without this confirmation if the circumstances are compelling within a reasonable degree of certainty.
quote:
Although no testing was done, the coroner determined that the likely UCOD was COVID–19 given the patient’s symptoms and exposure to an infected individual. Therefore, COVID–19 was reported on the lowest line used in Part I. Her ischemic stroke was considered a factor that contributed to her death but was not a part of the direct causal sequence
quote:
In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID–19 cannot be made, but it is suspected or likely (e.g., the circumstances are compelling within a reasonable degree of certainty), it is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate as “probable” or “presumed.”
