He’s probably the most honest politician we have.

He has and will tell you the truth of what’s going on in congress.

But it’s easier for people like you to blame him than address the scary truth that our way of life is about to be gone along with any chance of financial security.

Nobody likes McCarthy. Especially now if he really did backdoor everyone on Ukraine spending.

However, if the motion to vacate is a go, democrats will first vote against him, then when he's put up for the speakership, he'll win it with solid dem house members who are safe

In return McCarthy is going to give them everything they want, including the kitchen sink. It's futile

There are too many house repubs with big gov lobbyists in their pocket to go with anyone but McCarthy.

He should have never been elected as the speaker. If it took him needing 15 votes to secure his leadership it’s evident he was not wanted. He kept making deals for votes. I would be willing to bet he has not fulfilled all the promises he agreed to. He said during all those votes that it was his turn to be speaker. That doesn’t sound like he has the best interest of the country. It’s all about the power that comes with the speakership.

So now we all know. A California Republican is just like a California Democrat.

Reagan is just an after thought.

I think you are getting this wrong. All he needs is 5 republicans to vote to oust him. You can’t say he is working with democrats. If you have watched anything in the past few years you know that if it something the republicans want the democrats will vote 100% against it. Same thing is if democrats want something all republicans will vote against it. He’s just counting on the democrats to do what they do. You can not accuse him of working with them

No. I said the strategy of this group is bad, because their strategy is shite and only emboldens the DEMs, ultimately

How does it embolden the Dems more than structuring 7T in additional spending through 2024?

What did the Dems learn from that negotiation?

Failing does not equal negative consequences relative to the alternative of letting the GOPe do what it does. That’s a basic logic fail on your part.

Every chance we get to out there uniparty is extremely valuable. It’s the only true solution.

Because McCarthy has been pretty much giving Dems what they wanted every time. Seems like you're okay with that. Or that that's the best option to you.

McCarthy made a deal. He has not lived up to it at all. Whose fault is that?

I'd like to know which parts of the deal he made with the 'MAGA republicans', you disagree with.

Did McCarthy win? No.

There are no winners here. The only win was to potentially force the country off of this CR hamster wheel.

But, alas, no. We have been reduced to accepting what the minority party is willing to allow.

You keep alluding to the Republican congressmen as if they are in some sort of hostage situation and are forced to vote for the QR based on the whims of their constituency, when it's completely false.

Many of the ones voting for this are in solid red districts, including most of the reps from Louisiana.

Just admit that they want this. They may hem and haw, but they want to keep doing business as usual. This isn't anything like what you are suggesting.

There is no "fantasy" version of this, where they are just passing what they can pass and trying to get the biggest bang for the buck for the party.

THEY WANT THE QR. Period. And they have used the rhetorical tool of referring to anyone against the QR as MAGA, which is a very successful tool that is used all the time by the left or uniparty. (sometimes it's "Right wing" sometimes it's just "conservative")

Congrats, you fell for it.
