I think Gaetz's strategy, which he is promoting as MAGA, is MAGA. That's it.

Are you now claiming Gaetz hasn't framed his position/strategy as MAGA?

It's being painted as that because that makes it toxic.

Gaetz is acting as as useful idiot to permit just this, yes.

Again, a major part of why it's a terrible strategy if you care about fiscal responsibility.

even if Gaetz and others make it easy to paint them that way. I'm not a big fan of Gaetz, but he's right on this.

Being right and creating strategy positive for the policy are 2 different things.

We are discussing Gaetz's strategy ITT

Not continuing the CR nonsense year after year should not even be a controversial stance. We aren't talking about abortion.

If the Republican leadership would actually do their jobs, this would be an easy sell to their caucus and their constituents. They don't do that, because they WANT the CRs. They don't want the work or the responsibility to actually balance a budget, or have restrictions on spending or to give up any of their pet projects.

It is for the vast majority of the population.

It will take a long time and a great educational program to flip the tens of millions of voters you need to accomplish this goal.

Naw. There is a reason those constituents keep sending them to DC. The voters are largely happy with the status quo.

Because then they'll be voted out, likely by populists who will promise all the ice cream on Fridays they can.

This is a technical issue that an extreme minority understand. Not only do the "vast majority" not understand this, they don't even know this is even happening.

They don't support it, because they don't even know it exists.

And there are plenty of Republicans voting for these CRs that are in very comfortable Red districts. That's a bullshite argument. They aren't being held hostage by a philosophy they disagree with. They want this, so they get it.

yes, you are missing the fact that we must remove the rinos from power first, before wee can remove them from office.

It’s impossible to pass a budget?

Some of you are absolute slaves to the status quo.

…as the house votes for another CR at 2T spending deficits, and you predict a long term CR, you’ve concluded that the group pushing against it is the problem.

In theoretical land? No.

In reality? About a 0.01% chance.

If it means giving the DEMs fewer concessions.

Why is giving the DEMs more of what they want so popular by "fiscal conservatives" on here?

When's McCarthy ever going to live up to his deal that he made with Republicans to be speaker in the first place?

Reading your posts it seems like you're okay with business as usual in dc.

Gaetz was too shady to be a used car salesman, so he became a politician.

You are missing something alright...a focking brain man.

When this country goes bankrupt trying to support a Ukraine war and rebuilding efforts and another 10 million illegals from 156 countries carrying diseases never diagnosed in America you are going to be also missing your MONEY devaluated to nothing.

And the globalists say you won't complain !

No. I said the strategy of this group is bad, because their strategy is shite and only emboldens the DEMs, ultimately.

I guess muh fight needs another label.

I'm going to do some secret audience testing of at least we tried before we failed

He made that deal with MAGA, not Republicans.

And he'll live up to the deal when MAGA gets enough support to matter.

What about this:

Why is giving the DEMs more of what they want so popular by "fiscal conservatives" on here?

Implies this:

okay with business as usual in dc
