I liked it. There were several pretty funny segments, including a wrongness montage of things they've done that people would lose their shite over today. Some were pretty wrong by anyone's standards, like the Buck Henry pedo babysitter sketch from the 70's.
Paul McCartney ended it, and sounded like shite. Overall, it was pretty funny. Aside from Tom Hanks, the TDS was left out. Even DeNiro didn't bitch about Trump.

I know % wise it’s not significant.
True but as you said, compare it to the rest of them. And no matter what their comedy is mostly aimed at white conservatives. Just the way comedy works.

That special was terrible. I watched about the first 20 to 30 mins of it and changed the channel. Not because of political shite... it was just bad.

Akshually... That was a throwback to a Black Jeopardy sketch from when he previously hosted and the sketch, surprisingly, pointed out how much MAGA supporters and black folks had in common. It sort of poked fun at TDS libs.

I wonder how shocked people would have been if at the end Trump came out and congratulated Lorne Michaels on 50 years and handed him a Presidential medal.
And Trump talked about how great he made the show the times he hosted.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was reading this and guessing fhe folks here hadn’t seen it and didn’t get the throwback to that episode. I didn’t watch it but will go watch the stuff that everyone liked. I heard that nirvana was excellent.

Watched about 15 mins of it and it was uncomfortably horrible. I assume the laughter was piped in because nothing about it was funny. The opening monologue was stupid and made zero sense. I hope it takes an absolute beating review wise.

SNL used to nail political satire. They would make fun of both sides and both sides would laugh. And they wouldn’t try to infuse their own political commentary into the joke. They would make fun of personal characteristics.
