No you stupid frick you can't. The shift to other plants is simple in the upper Midwest. Seaboard Triumph can pick up a large portion of the slack in the plant 90 Miles away.

it will shut a U.S. plant indefinitely due to a rash of coronavirus cases among employees

We’ve seen this is other sectors - I think the public transportation in New York.

For those of you who say the quarantines killed the economy unnecessarily, this would be more widespread among more sectors of the economy without a shutdown. Plus a lot of other collateral damage from doing nothing.

Pick your poison.

The economy was going to get smashed either way. Wsp when people self-isolated

It is publicly traded, privately owned company of the WH Group that is based in China. Large shareholders in the company include Goldman Sachs.

So no the Chinese government is not involved.

How bad is corona affecting American owned plants? Might be an interesting comparison.

It is a publicly traded, private owned company based in China.

BTW 70% of the GDP of China is manufactured by private companies. That is not a defense of China. It is simply a fact for those who think of China in terms of 1972.

Smithfield bacon sucks anyway. We get ours from the Amish meat counter at the farmers market. Find a local producer, it's so much better.

Foster Farms chicken plant shut down in Union parish due to the workers quitting because 5 workers tested positive. Farmers are killing chickens and burying them.
