The reason for acknowledging related events on the timeline that occurred prior to this month isn’t strictly “I told you so”… It contextualizes how motivated IRGC is to make the current admin look bad, which is obviously the approach they are taking to the conflict.
It supports my assertion, which really shouldn’t even need to be stated… that IRGC is not going to negotiate its own ouster nor give up its ballistic missile program.
So short of regime change, the best thing we can hope for is JCPOA-2… Which is objectively fricking hilarious.

Interestingly, these two ghouls sound somewhat America First. What a crazy world we live in right now.

I'm really going to be busted up if lurkers and passers by watch you re write history and take anti US positions that don't allow you to ever be "wrong" and then don't take my mocking of your drivel seriously

Show us a single source that confirms that.
He voted for Gus Hall in 1976 as a “frick you” to the options from the major parties.
I’ve voted for both Republicans and Democrats. Does that make me a member of both parties?
I hate the guy. I think he’s a TDS-addled cancer that has done real damage to the country.
That doesn’t mean I need to buy into these silly tropes and reward the people using them.

no I read fine.
you've set regime change as the only success in this process just as I predicted you would when you were bitching about Kushner and Witkoff negotiating.
you want to pretend that the JCPOA is not the reason we are where we are today. You want to pretend it was a document that was worth something more than a piece of paper to wipe your arse with.
But that's because you would rather pretend that the Iranian regime was someone who could be trusted to do what the piece of paper said.
the piece of paper that brought us to the point of Iranians telling Kushner and Witkoff that they had enough enriched uranium to produce 11 nuclear weapons and that we could frick ourselves if we thought they would give it up. That they were going to become a regional nuclear power in the ME, control the straight and anything else of significance in the ME. And that they would conitnue to be the worldwide sponsor of terror and would continue to slaughter their citizens who protest against them.
this is the regime you believe. this is the regime you support.
the US is the group that you criticise and second guess no matter who they send for negotiation. And the US is the group you've place "regime change" as the only measure of success in the face of all the above.
Because you would rather see Trump (and the US) fail than see evil be put in its proper place after 50 years.
So, allow me to repeat.. "blah blah blah..... Orange Man Bad.... blah blah blah"

Because we ripped it up.

I take concrete positions.
1. Leaving JCPOA was stupid & launched a series of escalations. The decision was influenced by Netanyahu and unrealistic demands like Iran not having missiles. Not nukes… missiles.
2. Attacking Iran pre-emptively is not something I believe had to happen. But
3. It’s where we are now. Regime change is the ideal outcome / long-term victory condition. Negotiating temporary peace as soon as possible would be an election / economy win if regime change cannot be achieved.
You, on the other hand, are afraid to take any position. You just do ad hominems and whine.
Won’t get dragged into a cat fight with you, just setting the record straight.

Totally reconciles cleanly with my argument the ideal outcome would be regime change

because it was a worthless piece of paper signed by an evil and lying regime that was doing nothing other than continuing their nuclear ambitions while collecting money and making weak kneed libs like you feel like you were accomplishing something.

What course of action does Washington have? More bombings? Massive a half million army to invade Iran and topple the regime?

You're an idiot. You act like our minimal action against Iran, which has resulted in maximum effectiveness, is equivalent to the Iraq War or even Vietnam.
You are one stupid, deranged bastard.

The largest sum of money they received was just their own seized assets as part of lifting sanctions. The other was the prisoner exchange / 79 settlement depending who you ask.
They weren’t on a payroll & there is zero evidence they were pursuing nuclear weapons at any point in time overlapping when the US remained part of the deal.
And you’re a fricking hypocrite because if Trump settles on his own version of JCPOA, you will exclaim “problem solved!” You’d trust them more under those circumstances, despite the fact that mutual trust has only consistently been eroded since 2018.

I haven't changed.
I've been consistent for years on my views regarding military misadventurism, regime change, freedom of speech, the CIA, the FBI, etc etc etc. I'm not the one cheering the launch of a war in the Middle East against an Islamist country of 90M people that controls almost 25% of the world's oil flow in an election year. And I'm not the one openly posting for the FBI to spy on and arrest people because they say bad things about the war or our foreign policy.
I'm standing here wondering where everyone went. Then I see a poster I knew as MAGA walk by, high fives me over Iran, and says come on man we're over at Liz Cheney and Lindsey Graham's places.
And I'm a bit astonished.
Especially because I see a freight train coming in November and people cheering on what I think are profoundly strategic mistakes.
