They will never come for the firearms directly. They will go for magazines and ammo first. Then they will start will restrictions on the look/types of firearms. Also they will do the stupid gun buy backs so some will willingly give up their right to the state. This is there path.

AGREED.
No matter what they choose to do, it is an outright assault on YOUR 2nd Amendment Right! And this Amendment is sacred to conservatives, so they better be careful....

this would be the first time that I've ever seen the government overtly state
that it is taking away rights of the people.
Voting rights, Obamacare, gay marriage and even abortion was marketed as an expansion of rights. Telling the people that they are getting more than they had.
This is openly telling the people that they will be getting less.
