Being gay is not a sin - acting out as a homosexual is a sin according to Scripture.

Being heterosexual is not a sin - acting out sexually as a heterosexual outside of marriage is a sin according to scripture.

Having a bad temper is not a sin - failing to control it is a sin according to scripture.

Sin is sin in God's eyes (though some sin does have greater consequences here on earth).

Just be careful not to call a sin not a sin just because it happens to be your personal favorite. That's calling God a liar.

Jesus preached to love our neighbors and the downtrodden and needy. He was extremely liberal for his time. The sermon on the mount is where Jesus taught his disciples what they were to teach after he was gone. Homosexuality was not mentioned but he was very against adultry.

People who are looking for justification for their sins come up with all types of theories. They want to say that since Jesus didn't specifically preach against homosexuality, that it must be ok.
They ignore all the rest of scripture that is clear and consistent on homosexuality. And they ignore the verses of scripture where Jesus says he's here to do the will of the Father and that he and the Father are one.
Now since God the Father is very explicit in his hatred of the sin of homosexuality in the Bible, it's is only logical that his Son would share his Father's beliefs.
But since you want words out of Jesus' mouth, here you go;

"Matthew 19:4 Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,
5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?


Notice how Jesus describes the natural order of things and how a man was made for a woman, and how a man, leaves his traditional man and wife parents to join with a woman.
Why didn't Jesus include same sex pairings?

Since homosexuality is so strong of a topic for you why is it that Jesus didn't mention it during the sermon on the mount. I mean that is where he told his disciples what they were to teach after he was gone.

I suggest you worry about your own sins and your own personal relationship with Jesus not what others do.

Also your passage was ehen he was discussing marriage and also pointed out how sinful adultery is. Yet straight people commit adultery every day.

The Dims are going to use any pandering angle they can think of, using Christian scripture is a favorite tactic of so called “moderate” Democrats. The majority of Dims who cite Bible verses are the same ones who believe a woman has the right to murder an innocent child up to and including birth.

I have a good friend like you. Everybody thinks that the loudest gays represent all gay people, and it's just not true. I'm going to guess that being gay is just part of who you are and doesn't define your existence.

I hope that's not presumptuous or condescending; it wasn't meant as such.

I agree . If you're going to use the Bible be prepared to have it used against you.

P.s. it's called being repectful of others opinions. I just find it hypocritical when someone tries to preach to me that has never met me.

There is a big difference between passing judgement and knowing good from evil.

The deeper scriptures are for more mature Christians.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

The judgement that is forbidden is not condemning behavior, but souls, which man has no right or ability to judge.

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?


Furthermore, Christians have an obligation to warn people of the consequences of their actions.

"Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me. "When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. "Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself.



Maybe Mayor Pete should read this, if he can bear it.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

The truly great thing about the Christian bible is that it says what you want it to say an allows dismissal of inconvenient passages. It’s what separates it from the Koran.
