I didn't read the ruling, but it's not clear if this is just to open things up for Trump (to remove the bond/weight of the fine) while they evaluate the underlying findings, or if they're now going to assess what fines they feel are appropriate themselves (instead of remanding it back to the trial court)

The merits still in question, and will be decided another day by the NY Court of Appeals I'd imagine. But for all practical purposes, Trump has won with the fines being overturned.

Prosecution got absolutely hammered by the appellate judges from the get go. They don't have a rational theory as to how their twisted interpretation of the stature they used applies to the parties involved. This whole case will get tossed eventually.
