Should sex mutilation surgery be legal for anyone?

Even adults?
If these people are suffering mental illness, is it right for a doctor to be able to profit off of this and (air quotes)-"Affirm" their feelings?
If someone goes to a doctor and says they feel like they only have one arm, is it right for a doctor to remove that arm? Or I feel like I'm a cancer patient and I need radiation and chemotherapy treatment, does the doctor provide this "affirming care"
I think it's time we take this entire industry to task at the premise or heart of the issue. I know the focus has been on kids, for good reason. But do we really believe a mentally ill teenager who is 18 years and 1 day should be able to completely alter their body for life, for no medically good reason, seems to violate the Hippocratic oath.
And this is no less, after everything we saw with people ot being able to get simple Ivermectin. So a doctor can chop a mentally ill person's wanker off for no good reason. But a sick person can't get a common, very safe medicine that has shown tremendous results throughout the world.

Sure.
Women butcher their bodies all the time, paint it all colors. No reason you can't chop off or add something as a grown up.

I have no problem with legal adults doing whatever they want to their own body. There should definitely be some counseling protocols in place for life altering surgery but live and let live.

I get the libertarian argument. It's not so much about the patient, but about the doctor to me. There are all kinds of regulations on other things in the medical industry.
Do you believe a physically healthy person should be able to relieve cancer treatment because they "believe" they have cancer?

It’s sad how doctors have no problem cutting it off or making a new one out of your toes if you’re a lady but a surgery to make it bigger? No way that’s illegal

Even for mentally ill or deranged people. Just let them harm themselves even though they aren't in their right mind? And let doctors get filthy rich off of it, who know better.

I don't care. But it's this obsession with convincing kids to mutilate their bodies that's troubling. Kids aren't old enough to get tattoos, why the frick are they old enough for permanent 'gender affirming care'
Just leave them kids alone.

For adults only period.
Also, they can become cyborgs too.

Free market. Let them do it and let them charge whatever. Just don’t push the ideology on me and don’t use my tax money.

It's a free country. I don't feel it's my right to tell another free, tax paying adult citizen what they should be able to do.
Want to tattoo yourself to look like a snake? Ok
Want to amputate your leg? Ok
Want to cut your balls off and wear women's clothes? Ok
Just three rules:
1) Stay away from children
2) Don't expect me to participate in your delusion
3) You are completely responsible for the cost

That’s hard to say. Part of me would say adults should be able to do what they want to themselves. On the other hand I think any doctor that does it should immediately be disbarred for violating their oath to “do no harm”. So I guess in a way I am
Against it legally.
Against it legally.

As adults, they should be able to do whatever they want to themselves.
I'm somewhat glad they're allowed to, or encouraged to deform themselves.
It's good to know who's insane of the people near you. Plus, they're fun to point and laugh at.

Yes. Have you ever seen plastic surgery for gigantic assess and enormous lips? They are just as bad.

It's an absolute failure and denigration of the medical profession.

So are we also OK with doctor assisted suicide? And not just for terminally ill people, but just depressed people who are perfectly healthy? Free country, right?
I'm not saying we can stop someone from jumping off a bridge, but are OK licensing medical to intentionally kill depressed people?
Tattoos and certain plastic surgeries are not life altering and not necessarily irreversible. These people also are not mentally insane and do not have strong delusions like they are not in the right body. We should not be castrating insanse people like it's no big deal.

In certain cases I am. As in terminal illness.

Do we need to pay for it? This stuff is incredibly expensive and currently health insurance needs to cover the cost?

I don't care what adults do to themselves.

My argument isn't about the adults. But about what licensed doctors can do to people. I want to make Sure that distinction is clear.
As long as we are going to regulate the medical industry to the point that a doctor can't prescribe Ivermectin or recommend Vitamin D, should we also make sure "licensed professionals" are not being paid by crazy people to remove body parts for profit?
If you want to make the argument that the entire medical industry should become completely de-regulated to the point anyone who owns a white coat and a stethoscope can practice medicine, and there is no prifessional certification process, then fine, I am open to that argument.
But we don't live in that world. We require certain standards of Doctors who practice medicine. Are we OK with Oncologists providing chemo to anyone who wants it as long as they are an adult? If not, then explain your inconsistencies.
