Should Racist coach Mike Tomlin be fired?

The racist coach created a hostile work environment demanding players disrepect the men and women who serve and protect the USA. By demanding that his players not go onto the field to salute the flag, he totally disrespected the brave men and women who died fighting for our freedom. That is disgraceful. Should be fired, most Steeler fans are demanding it at this point.

Eh, I get why they did it. It just wasn't very well executed.

In an effort to avoid controversy, they just created more.

I don't think he needs to be fired. If we take him at his word he believed he was mitigating the damage. Just went about it in a misguided way.

Besides, Steeler ownership is probably the most left leaning in the NFL. tomlin is safe.

It's time to put a cork in the "you're a racist" bull shite.

Tomlin is purported to have been a Clinton supporter. Good for him, WTF ever.

This crap is getting out of hand and likely to get worse, it's time for the adults in the room to stand up and be counted.

Coach Tomlin put everything on the players to work out he basically said whatever we do we do it together .

there's no way that you can get 50 three grown men to all agree to go out and do something in the form of a public demonstration whether that be hiding during the anthem or kneeling during the anthem it's divisive and it's inappropriate to put an employee in that kind of position to make a political statement he or she may not agree with but not let the team down and so they go along with it most likely against their conscience so, I think a huge fail on the coach

He treated the "White Guy" ( Alejandro Villanueva) differently and tried to prevent him from standing for Anthem. Making decision to not allow team to take the field is worse than taking a knee.

I have called myself a Steelers fan. I like Mike Tomlin. I understand what he was trying to do. The situation has spiraled out of control of the powers that be in the NFL.

Because they did not act early and swiftly as they usually do (see their response to the Cowboys' proposal to honor their fallen officers) - so they've taken a side. If anything, Tomlin was trying to split the baby - my best guess is that a majority of Steelers players would have stood, but a significant number would have kneeled or sat. Tomlin was trying to protect the team, IMHO, by keeping them out of it.

But, the time of staying out of it is past. They have to take a side. You're either respectful of the flag, the anthem and our traditions, or you aren't.
