I damn sure hope so. He should call the towel head in charge over there and tell them to have all 80 million dollars worth of military equipment that was left behind sitting on the base too. If they don’t then it’s FAFO time. Too many lives were lost and sacrifices made to give them the base back. Especially the way it was done.

Give them 48 hours to vacate tell them they cannot take any equipment with them

he used a shitload of drones to police it

And then drop a couple of bunker busters on top of it

Maybe the Taliban would lease it to us. They had been leasing it to the ChiComs.

Well, they have it back. Thank Biden.

No point in spending more time and treasure and blood on it now. Cut bait, let them fight the Chinese or Russians or whoever with it

OP isn’t totally off base (pardon the pun) with his post. The base is highly strategic. Some sort of lease arrangement would be good for the US, although I’m not sure what incentives the Taliban would have to voluntarily lease it to us. Trump can be quite persuasive though.

So you want to re-open a theater of operations? You want to spend blood and treasure, again, to take back Bagram? What is the strategic goal that this satisfies?

What is the strategic value, given the insane logistical burden it presents and the multitude of platforms we have that can eavesdrop, photograph, snoop, and bomb that area without needing any boots on the ground? What do we gain, strategically, by having boots on the ground in the middle of AFG?

Screw a lease…it was ours if we want it go take it. (We should leave it be IMO) Certainly don’t pay the Tali rent on something we built, that’s just dumb.

Our greatest adversary is China followed by Iran. A base of operations that allows us to conduct covert missions against both nations certainly has value. It should never have been relinquished voluntarily. The US leases bases all over the globe and this would be one to consider.

You want Trump...to use American tax dollars...to pay the fricking Taliban?

Is that what I'm reading?

Are you unaware we have other military installations all over that region with this capability without stepping all over our own dick again in Afghanistan?

We built it its ours
Tell them to vacate if one plane takes off out of the place we will blow up a runway each day.
The Haji only know 1 thing and it's force diplomacy is weakness in their eyes
China is not using our defense base. That can be done with diplomacy with Chin chi.
