This will totally work. I mean it's not like a convicted felon would lie and say they didn't shoot someone in order to get a check. "Nah Dog, I didn't shoot Lil' Pookie. Where's my paper?" Will they have to pay back any money the collected if they are found guilty of shooting someone? Good luck getting that money back.

If someone shoots at me and I shoot them dead, do I get $300 for problem elimination?

Hmmm....Let's see, $300 to not shoot someone or a quick $500 from robbing someone and shooting them.

What about rape/ sexual assault, armed robbery, and any other violent offenses? Will there be any payout for not doing those things too?

SF was once a beautiful city. Now, I want an earthquake to come and drop that cesspool of filth and crime of a city into the ocean.

Don't apply for this money, a lot of people may need shooting in the near future.

Giving bad people money has never solved the problem. It exacerbates the problem every time. Shitty people are going to be shitty regardless.Throw in no accountability with everyone thinking “I’m entitled” it’ll keep growing.

You'd think that it would be the other way around.

Typical progressive approach, when you see a problem throw other people's money at it.

$300/month. Will that buy you a private militia of gang members willing to do your bidding or just a few targeted hits?

Pay people not to have babies out of wedlock and every other problem solves itself.

So what happens when they run out of money?

Does the backlog of shootings happen all at once?

The same town that reduced crime rates by decriminalizing anything under $950 is now going to pay people to not shoot each other.

I’m sure they’ll amend the bill, allow for future credits based on “promises not to shoot in the future”. And when those promises are broken they’ll be another part of the bill that covers the criminals broken promises lawyers and court fees.
