The Fable of the Cowboy, Cuckold, and Snake

Once upon a time, a cowboy and cuckold strolled down a forest trail. Suddenly, they noticed a large rattlesnake in the path ahead. The cuck began to back away. But his friend said, “Don’t be chicken, boy! You ain’t doin’ nothin’ but walkin’ the public path. You’ve got every right to be here. Screw that snake!”

With that he shoved the cuck forward. The snake immediately registered a perceived threat. It coiled. It hissed. It rattled. All the while, the cowboy nudged his friend further toward it. He encouraged the cuck to grab a stick and poke the snake to force it to give way. The cuck complied.

Finally, after one poke too many, the rattler struck. The speed and viciousness stunned both men. The poor cuck was hit. He collapsed with the envenomation. After the strike, the cowboy tried to aid his friend. But every time he did, the snake threatened to strike again, and the cowboy had to back off.

So all three players remained as they were, nearly frozen in their positions on the path, except that one of the three slowly succumbed as they did.

Who is to blame for the outcome?
Who do you support?
Who should the PT support?
The snake? The cuck? The cowboy?

The answer is “none of the above.” It was a dumb, avoidable situation with a predictably terrible outcome. The best one can do is to simply recognize it for what it is in order to avoid recurrence in the future.

Admittedly, I speculated PT supports not so much Russia but more against Ukraine. Am I wrong?

My position is, Putin responded to Nato Expansion they way the US would have if Mexico was flirting with China and Russia military Alliance.

2nd, we know our government is the reason this conflict started

3rd we're funding this none sense, with money we don't have..

So I think we just want it play out without US involvement...

but we don't see that happening....so it might appear we're pulling for Putin...

I personally don't think he's the villain that we're told he is...

Almost. What most here seem to be against is any US involvement. This stance is underscored by the stories of the US blocking at least one set of negotiations which had almost achieved peace (or at least a ceasefire).

“You always own the option of having no opinion. There is never any need to get worked up or to trouble your soul about things you can't control. These things are not asking to be judged by you. Leave them alone.”

- Marcus Aurelius

Or if you prefer Thomas Jefferson - "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none."

This is where I stand, I have no opinion of either and don't "support" either; nor do I trust either nation and their leadership. It is a situation we shouldn't be entangled in their affairs or sending hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to "support" either side. We should be dispassionately watching the situation and preparing and anticipating all outcomes so we can position our own country for success.

Neither. Ukraine isn't in our sphere of influence. I don't want my tax money going there, especially when there is so much it could be used for here.

I still want to know why the Republicans thought it was okay to liberate the kingdom of Kuwait after they were invaded by a belligerent neighbor - with actual American troops - but now they think it's not okay to just send aid to the republic of Ukraine to support their efforts to expel belligerent invaders.

The only real difference seems to be the party in charge in the White House.

Republicans were neocon interventionists then and they are not now. And in a weird twist, Victoria Nuland and her gang became Dems.

Fellow poster and I debated if PT supported Putin or Z (Russia or Ukraine).

Don't care about either one of them. We have much more important shite to worry about. Ukraine is not worth one damn cent of American taxpayer money.

My position is the entire Ukrainian government is a psyop. Putin is a dictator. And so is Zelensky, albeit a face man dictator who takes his marching orders from Victoria Nuland. I detest everyone involved.

I have no dog in this fight.

There will be no winner in this shitshow.

So I vote none of the above.

Neither, They are both run by evil men.

We just don’t want trillions of our dollars to be wasted thousands of miles away.

I'm talking about ten years before Nuland hooked up with Cheney. Hell, let's go ahead and include Panama, Beirut and Grenada from the 80s.

Is it just that the Republicans today are just RINOs?

There is a small subset of the board that adores Putin and that's been a weird thing amongst a minority of the right wing long before this conflict. It goes back to the Obama years.

There is no support for either. No one idolizes Putin here either.

Simple matter of truth is that most of DC is just like Putin and would love nothing more than to have his power.

Ukraine is nothing more than a money laundering opportunity.
