I hate that we are separating families, but if the Democrats don't play ball because they are deranged over GEOTUS, it needs to happen. We need to secure the border, and it baffles me how desperate the Democrats are to not make a deal. frick them. GEOTUS offered 1.8 million DACA a pathway to citizenship for a four point immigration plan, and three points the majority of Americans agree with. People "want DACA" in vaccumm but they also want to end chain migration and start merit based immigration moving forward as well as ending the diversity visa lottery. The majority of Americans want all those things, but the Democrats screamed racist. It showed how disingenuous they are. As long as they continue to act like this, we have to move to stronger enforcement policies. It sucks and is unfair for some, but it's more fair for all than the status quo.

I’m not necessarily against the policy (at least as a means to pass real border control) but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about children being separated from their families. What you wrote is frightening. I don’t think Trumpers with blood dripping from their fangs actually help the cause.

100% agree. I want to build the wall yesterday and am in line with Trump on immigration 100%, but I don't think things like this will win hearts and minds. I honestly don't care if people want a secure border because they hate Mexicans, are big on vertical structures, or they think it will solve global warming and make everyone start using 32 gender pronouns. It doesn't matter to me if someone that votes Republican or Democrat wants a policy for a crazy reason, if the policy is good regardless. Our current immigration policy is abysmal and needs to change. Unfortunately my opinion isn't the only one that matter and to have real change there needs to be more support from moderates and centrists. Attitudes and posts like we see here aren't a good look for that, IMO.

He needs to influence the need to stop the way the border patrol is treating people. All it takes is one.
