The actual story.

It’s also Broward County. The most bluest of blue counties in Florida.

That’s the same police force that has multiple opportunities to arrest Nicholas Cruz before he killed 17 children.

So it isn’t like they are over zealous.

I hate it when my vehicle or house get broken into. I feel violated. If felony murder gets a thug off the street then good. It lowers the odds ever so slightly that something I worked for will get stolen by someone. Society would be much better off if more thugs were off the streets and segregated from law abiding citizens.

We could save a lot of lives if people obeyed simple traffic laws. Should we start throwing people in jail for minor traffic violations?

The felony charge applies to the whole state, right? Not county specific?

Yep. My apartment was broken into when I was living in BR and the criminal stole everything of value I had, including my bike. It really sucked.

My vehicle was stolen in the Spring. It really sucked and hurt my feelers. I don’t think the kids who stole my vehicle should die for stealing my vehicle.

That didn’t happen. Move on.

Actually, the perpetrator could have been homeless. Idk. He was never caught.

To make it more related to the story in your op, it would be like if the kids who stole your vehicle then got in a police chase and one bailed on foot. A few blocks down the road the driver of your stolen car then kills a couple of bicycle riders. Should one or both be charged with murder?

No it would be like if one of the kids who stole my vehicle was apprehended and inside the police car while the other drove away in my vehicle and killed two people on bicycles.

Only the driver should be charged with murder in that case.

But this is pure fiction. I live in a lawless city. It took more than 24 hours for the police to even call me back after I tried to file a police report.
