Meet your escape Goat

If they so wanted to, this could be where this all falls. Not the FBI fault.... Steele's.

quote:

Two Republican senators claim to have “substantial evidence” suggesting that former British spy Christopher Steele misled the FBI about “a key aspect” of the infamous dossier.
The senators — Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham — also provided new details about a previously undisclosed memo that Steele wrote based on information provided by a Hillary Clinton associate.

“It is troubling enough that the Clinton Campaign funded Mr. Steele’s work, but that these Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations raises additional concerns about his credibility,” Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote Monday.

The FBI reviewed the referral for classified information and approved the release of the document in heavily redacted form.

It has two bombshell revelations.

“There is substantial evidence suggesting that Mr. Steele materially misled the FBI about a key aspect of his dossier efforts, one which bears on his credibility,” Graham and Grassley wrote to Wray and Rosenstein.

Steele either lied to the FBI or the FBI lied about what they knew about him. I think that's Grassley's point. Either prosecute Steele for lying to you, or come clean and admit you (FBI) were lying to Congress.

It's definitely the latter. The FBI knew. Their actions hiding the funding of the Dossier and creating the circular source of validation prove that.

It is the F B I's job to verify any info they receive to determine if it is credible or not. They are guilty of taking info from an unreliable source, and not discovering how the info was obtained.
"Gross negligence".
I'm sure they committed some crimes, but lawyers will have to determine which laws were broken.
Where's the DOJ's investigations into these crimes???

Bingo. Nunes saw evidence on his March 2017 trip to WH SCIF that HE was spied on- while he was working on the Trump transition team.

So now FBI tries to act as if they were "misled" or outsmarted

Is America dumb enough to believe that one guy misled entire FBI?

Only guy I've seen do that is Trump

Wasn't there a report that he didn't even travel to Russia to compile the info, but rather hired a sub to do it?

I know he doesn't speak Russian and isn't well versed on Russia in general. A report on Fox earlier suggested that the DNC was feeding Steele narratives and challenging him to produce substantiating Intel.

This is looking worse by the day.

Not sure I'd be going with the "We didn't verify it but ran with it anyway" line at this point. The FBI hole keeps getting deeper.

I want to hear what some of the Democrats have to say about this before commenting on Grassley accusations. Seems to be two sides to every story coming out of IC.

Grassley might be telling the truth. I’m open to that but are you open to people being wrong by simply assuming? Example Nunes hasn’t even read the court transcripts on FISA warrant. Don’t you think you might want to get your hands on that before commenting on whether the court knew or to the degree the court knew/ didn’t know about this dossiers source?

This talking point is asinine.

1 majority and 1 minority member of the HIC was allowed to review it. Nunes as chair chose his most seasoned and qualified member to review it. That member attests to the accuracy of the memo.

The memo is not the work product of nunes, it is the work product of the HIC.

You degrade your credibility using such ridiculous arguments.

Only American Citizens commit a crime for lying to the FBI. A citizen of another country can tell the FBI to go frick themselves
