Senator Johnson just released unedited, original comey letter exonerating Hillary

Ex-FBI Director James Comey’s original statement closing out the probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server was edited by subordinates to remove five separate references to terms like “grossly negligent” and to delete mention of evidence supporting felony and misdemeanor violations, according to copies of the full document.
Comey also originally concluded that it was “reasonably likely” that Clinton’s nonsecure private server was accessed or hacked by hostile actors though there was no evidence to prove it. But that passage was also changed to the much weaker “possible,” the memos show.
Original draft with edits shown found here
Another thing deleted from letter: the statement that FBI and IC were working through joint conference to assess how damaged national security became because of her email

Lock her up I say

Wonder what specifics he was thinking of when he said “reasonably likely.”
Dude was in a tough spot. I will always say that he actually believed she could be charged but that he never would given that she was in the midst of a close presidential race.
He tried to make it a “political question.”
Arguably he can take credit for her losing, which he probably thinks is a fair outcome.

Comey does not if he thinks he did.

I have always believed this to be the case as well. At first, I sympathized with him because I read it this way, and thought- he’s doing the right thing. His boss basically telegraphed to him that she wouldn’t prosecute her with that airplane bullshite. Hense, the “no reasonable prosecutor” language.
When he lost me was when he leaked that memo to influence whether a special counsel was appointed.
He was making calls - he wasn’t authorized to make.
Comey was letting his personal opinions get in the way of his legal ones. Lawyers can’t do that. They have to stay in their lane.
Comey had an ethical obligation to come forward and let Lynch fall on her face. He didn’t. He was probably well intentioned, but it was still wrong. He should have known that.

What's worse is that over half of the voting public wanted her to run this country. These people should be forced to relinquish their citizenship and exiled to a third world country. They're all pieces of shite.

Agreed. How dumb do you have to be to proudly vote for Hillary?

Just prosecutorial discretion. Not ignoring the law.

None of even the most hard core libs here will admit to having done so.
Curious how she possibly won the popular vote for the whole country.

For it to be prosecutorial discretion - Comey would have to be a PROSECUTOR. He was the cops. Wasn’t his call. It was Lynch’s. He let that bitch get away with whatever Bill Clinton bribed her with.
He was trying to be noble by falling on his sword. He was either enabling that or a pussy. But probably both.

Waiting for Reinhard’s take on the matter via Twitter

Prosecutorial discretion is just simply refusing to take action and press charges, not misinterpreting the law and making shite up as you go like James Comey did.
Firing James Comey is one of the best decisions Donald Trump has ever made as President. Too bad it was a few months too late as it should've happened no later than the first week after the inauguration.

Whole lot of rage at Trump in California and New York. Ran up the score there.
